I live in Staunton, Va....... Recently cleared land..... Lots of Blackberries and Cedars... Soil sample says I need 2000 lbs per acre of Lime and I need 75 nitrogen and 150 phosphorous and 60 potassium....... . The person clearing the land TOOK TOO LONG..... I seeded on October 7th and Blew straw on Oct 8th....... THe good news is that it has been raining PERFECTLY every other day since the 9th............. Highs have been in the 70s lows in the mid 40's and 50s..... and NO frost until at least Oct. 30th.... I didnt have time to lime and fertilize.... Questions.............. does the fescue have a chance of taking hold????? I did 40% annual rye........... I am thinking I am going to be ok with that................ I have a turkey farmer 4 miles from my house, I am thinking about appylying 2 tons an acre, and having the local Coop put down 1-2 tons a acre of lime, but when do I do that????
