lucky bamboo leaves yellowing

Kovács János

there are two lucky bamboos in a glass vase, one for at least 5 years, the other for even more, maybe 7.

some time ago, some of the older one's leaves started becoming yellow, and its happening faster now. 4 leaves are completely yellow now, and 3 others have hints of yellow. the new leaves are small and pale. the newer bamboo doesnt seem to have any problems at all. the vase had these watery jelly ball things in it the whole time, and thats what the bamboos were among. now its all dark blue and i cant see any balls, but it was like that for years. they were watered with tapwater infrequently, and occassionally with regular fertilizer (if im right). they are in front of the window, but not in direct sunlight. they are just like where they were all the time.

all i did yet is wiping off all the dust from them with a semi-wet handkerchief. should i change the water or whatever they are in currently? and if yes, what water is good? is non-carbonated mineral water good enough?

here are pictures of the happening
