Two "cripples" in our house

Hubby's prostate was removed a few years ago but the cancer has come back in the form of bone cancer. Apparently recurring prostate cancer is quite common with it targeting the bones or organs.

He has a fractured L2 because his bones are in a weakened state. Taking bone strengthening injections, oral chemo, as well as his regular hormone injections which he has been since the beginning of the year. It gets ride of his testosterone, which the cancer feeds off of.

He's not to do any heavy lifting or anything that will put his bones at risk (massage therapy included).

I wanted to turn our mattress this weekend, not flip it, just spin it. He kind of grabbed the corner to help pull it, and I did the bulk of the lifting and turning. Now it hurts me to bend over to put on my socks/shoes, when I lean to the side, bending to put anything down or lift it up. Crap.

I've tried using his T.E.N.S machine to target the spots but it's hard to pinpoint. Upper butt I'd say horizontal to the tailbone. I'm using a heating pad as well, but it's not really doing it. Reading the directions on the stupid thing says not to sit on it or lean against it. So what good is a heating pad? To wear on my head?

Just venting. :-)
