River Valley Cabinet Works -- I can't see how homes/neighborhoods designed to isolate families who live only yards apart could be in anyone's best interests. We have many of these neighborhoods here in central Florida, without front porches, some even without sidewalks, and to me they seem to give off a feeling of unfriendliness. I very much agree with comfy by design's comment. Kudos to the builders of the homes featured in this article.

I am familiar with the homes along Ohio Route 7 in Bellaire (this is the correct spelling of that historic small Ohio River town) because for many years I visited friends in the middle of that neighborhood on the too-rare occasions when I was in the area. Those solidly built homes were very livable and inexpensive, and friends, neighbors and the neighborhood children had connections to each other fostered by that design.

By the way, just a few blocks from there was a small take-out pizza shop named DiCarlo's where I always took advantage of the opportunity to get a slice or two of the some of the best pizza I ever tasted. Hope it's still there, it's been years.
