Jure, It's good you didn't use any fertilizer on your Lychees as they are very sensitive to it. I've started a few seedlings myself just for the fun of it and I've noticed that when they are left dry too long between watering, their leaves will begin to dry up. I'm not sure yours is the case. They like to be watered once the soil becomes dry, but not soaking wet all the time. Are you growing the seedlings to produce fruit at a future date? Lychee seedlings unfortunately don't produce fruit quickly. I heard it may take 8-10 years. I have some seedlings which I started 8 years ago and they are still in the pot and never fruited at all. Then, I have also quite a few lychee trees in the ground that are about the same age. Some of them have produced fruit already--though they don't always have a lot of fruit every growing season for me. Assuming that you do wish to have the fruit soon, I would suggest you order an air layered or grafted plant and plant it in the ground. They'll grow quicker and bigger for you and the fruit production will definitely be more than those cultivated in the pot. Even when cultivated in the pot, the air-layered or grafted ones will fruit at 3-4 ft tall, but of course the fruit is scanty. If you're just planting them for a hobby, they're nice little plants to look at. I have some sitting on my window ledge and I enjoy looking at them whenever I enter or leave my house. Have fun with your little seedlings. It looks to me like your underwatering--by a lot. It takes a lot of water and energy for the fine roots to transport it all the way up those loooong stems; if it's rootbound it will have a lot of woody roots that don't take up water, making it important that all the fine roots have a chance to do their job. Stick a thin sharp stick into the pot, all the way to the bottom. How's the soil moisture? Remember, overwatering isn't good, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't water enough to moisten all the soil! If i were you, I'd start by giving it a really thorough soak until a fair amount of water comes out the bottom. When the water stops draining, tilt the pot 45 degrees (lean it against a fence or wall) to let as much residual water to drain out. gardengal, wouldn't it be better to stabilize the plant before replanting? I'd think you'd want the tree to be healthy before replanting, especially if all it needed was several days of hydration. Feel free to correct me, though, because I know bupkes about planting trees.

I had to look up "willow water". Thanks for the tip, I will definitely try it. After I posted, about 25% of the leaves still ended up drying out, so I just keep changing them. The cats are a bit bigger now, so they seem better about getting moved. (meaning they aren't dying...)

sarah 'Near the window" is nearly not enough for succulents. During winter, when days are short and gloomy, it is even worse. Succulents should get at least 6 hrs of good ligh, and what filters thru unobstructed window, with a plants on windowsill, is often just so-so. Moving it away makes it worse. Did you say what your general location is? - if not, pls. add that info next to your name... Watering daily is too often for succulents. They should dry up in-between watering, and that could be few days to a week and even more - but we need to know the temps your plant is in. And what is the potting mix made of.
