I have two kinds of fig trees I planted this year. I put some by mistake in full sun and some in partial shade. the one in partial shade are growing and look very good. The one in full sun has its leaved curl up and look sad during the day sun and heat. I figured out that the trees were shipped to me bare foot. Bare foot trees has its roots shocked up and need recovery. I water the ones in full sun daily. When the sun goes away the leaved come back normal. I figured that the leave curling is a self-defense for imbalance between the root not supplying enough water and the leaves in 100 degree heat losing too much water. When the root system establishes itself this problem will disappear. I have one tree shipped to me in container and it is full sun and has no problem at all because its roots are intact. Now I learned my lesson not to buy trees from any nursery selling bare foot trees.Pay a little more for the shipping and give your tree one year advantage. Believe or not my eggplants had the same problem and I kept watering it twice a day and the problem disappeared. I have abundant eggplant crop I just donated 40 eggplants to the soup kitchen. My water bill doubled but it still $120 for the quarter. The summer in our area was very hot and dry.

Hi Bill, I am so sorry about your beautiful peach tree and I hope that you can find the cure soon. I don't know what is causing but is there the possibility that someone near by sprayed an herbicide or something and the wind spread to your tree? I heard people saying that sometimes. I know that in the u-pick farm he told me that some of his peach trees died but I think it was related to the cold, next time that I go there I will ask him more about it. If you are following the same schedule for feeding and watering, check maybe for bugs even if you have to use a magnifying glass, somebody in the forum said they use that for seeing the bugs like thrips. Yes, Mr Blubs is right that your plant has scale insects. How important is this plant to you? If this plant isn't sentimental or valuable, it may not be worth it to try to fight the scale. Scale can be tough to eradicate. If you really want to try to save the plant though, I would suggest using a systemic pesticide that is labeled for indoor use in addition to following the advice to spray it (as well as the pot and the surrounding area) with a mixture to try to kill the insects every few days for several weeks.

It looks to me like your underwatering--by a lot. It takes a lot of water and energy for the fine roots to transport it all the way up those loooong stems; if it's rootbound it will have a lot of woody roots that don't take up water, making it important that all the fine roots have a chance to do their job. Stick a thin sharp stick into the pot, all the way to the bottom. How's the soil moisture? Remember, overwatering isn't good, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't water enough to moisten all the soil! If i were you, I'd start by giving it a really thorough soak until a fair amount of water comes out the bottom. When the water stops draining, tilt the pot 45 degrees (lean it against a fence or wall) to let as much residual water to drain out. gardengal, wouldn't it be better to stabilize the plant before replanting? I'd think you'd want the tree to be healthy before replanting, especially if all it needed was several days of hydration. Feel free to correct me, though, because I know bupkes about planting trees.
