I am about to redo our bedroom and we have cherry wood furniture as well. I love our set, it's formal but very clean lined and simple. I am going to paint my walls white, add a bench at the end of the bed and some chairs with a round table between them on the far wall that has windows, and new bedding. My room is huge 800 sf so I am also going to add an interesting sitting bench thing to the sitting area. I am planning on silvery blue and cream fabrics. I have a lot to do! I am still trying to decide on fabrics and exact style of chairs. I have it narrowed down and went to look at fabrics and chairs. One of things that I am stumped on is mixing linens with velvets, and silks, I don't know if this is a no-no. My husband wants a silvery blue luxurious feel. I want to do a round brushed gold table with a white stone top and two chairs maybe with tufting next to it. The drapes I want to use are sheer cream linen. We don't need much privacy and still want to look out at the beautiful view so that's why I am thinking sheer linen. I don't know how sheer cream linen would look with velvet or silk chairs?? I have a lot to think about. I might hire an interior designer by the hour to give me advice.

It sounds like you are working up a beautiful space. 800 sf of a master room...that sounds like a fabulous retreat you are going to have! If you are on the fence about mixing types of fabric with the sheer linen curtains and chair, maybe a perfect mix would be small accent pillows in those fabrics on the chairs, instead of a whole chair in that fabric. You could also get some of that metallic, luxurious feel from the accessories on the table, which sounds like it will already have a very clean and luxurious feel to it. I can't wait to see pictures of your final design, especially with how you incorporate your cherry furniture!
