Comments (8)rhizo_1 "The thing is....I'll bet you learned in your Master Gardener class that one shouldn't apply a control chemical without knowing what or who the problem is, as well as the kind of plant." Never went to one class in my life you dont have to when you are born with a green thumb... I never have any probs with my gardens ever because my plants immune system and my climate are PERFECT. My preventative messures prob will stop me from ever learning the diff diseases. So while you wonder whats harming your plants Im wondering how im going to keep up with the fast growth of my plants. The problem is there for a reason what ever it is can grow happy on your plants you need to find a way to make what ever it is life not so good so it can live....See MoreSpotted Leaves, Pale Green Leaves & Spotted Leaves
Comments (1)It does look like nutrient deficiencies, which have the twin benefits of being slow and correctable. The interveinal yellowing, where the veins stay green, is more likely magnesium than iron... but the real way to tell is where it's happening. Magnesium starts at the bottom, iron starts at the top. The pictures make me guess it's the former; you could mix up a tablespoon or so of epsom salts in a spray bottle and spritz down the plants, and see whether the leaves color up again. The yellow leaves probably are nitrogen, and a light foliar feed is very unlikely to give them too much nitrogen. Spray them down with fish emulsion and see if they green up. If they do, start giving them light doses of nitrogen regularly. Clay soil can be very rich in just about everything... except nitrogen; your amendments weren't with anything that would boost that N level for any length of time, particularly if the chicken manure was old. Best of luck -- the plants should be fine once you can give them what they need. --Alison...See MoreNeed Help : Yellow spots and leaves falling of my Lemon tree
Comments (10)It is normal for citrus to drop older leaves, especially on established trees like this one. And it's always a good idea to fertilize regularly. But on the third leaf from the right, I think I see Whitefly larvae and their white stuff they leave around them. And I think the first two leaves may have a little bit of sooty mold, which would come from the Whitefly larvae droppings, a sweet sticky substance. It looks like a pretty mild case. On a tree that size they won't really damage it, it's more of a nuisance then. But if I were you I'd take the hose with a spray end and give it a good hard wash with water, especially on the under sides of the leaves. That will get rid of a large percent of them, then I'd do that every week for a while, say a month or so. That will help get rid of new ones as eggs left behind, hatch out. Overall though, johnmerr and pip are right, it's in pretty good shape, just need some food....See MoreHELP fiddle leaf has bumpy spots and new leaves fall off
