honed marble counters w/polished marble back splash?
Comments (9)Hi Kateskouros, I think it's a lovely idea as the honed tends to lose some of it's drama of the veining and the backsplash would be a great place to show it off! I think I saw early pics of your slabs and they are beautiful! One thing to think about, our polished countertops have been in now for 5 months and still look fabulous, even have stood up to spills that I thought it wouldn't. Now, we have an etch or two, but they are small and nearly impossible to find. We used a polished marble backsplash tile - Thassos and I put a different sealer on it than is on the counters. Remember, on the backsplash, you can use something that is more durable and not necessarily food safe because you aren't going to prepare your food right on it. The sealer we used sits a bit on the surface, I would not have liked on the counters because it takes away a bit of the glorious marble feel. I don't care on the backsplash a bit and it makes everything wipe off beautifully! As for stains or etching on the backsplash, we don't have either. Good luck! I can't wait to see your end result because so far your selections sound lovely!...See MoreAll-white kitchen remodel: Marble backsplash makes counters dingy!
Comments (23)We found 3 whites that we love together. The cabinets are a dove white, counter top is Viatera Minuet quartz (the smaller sample on the edge) and backsplash is Lansdale Carrera Amalfi from the Tile Shop. The marble is creamy with very subtle warm veining and tiny sparkly flecks. Fingers crossed that when we get the marble in larger quantities it is as uniform as the box they had at the store!!! The color variation on the sample we have is very subtle and diffuse and does not fight with the counter top....See Morequartz backsplash if you have a quartz countertop

Comments (8)Sorry no feedback on finishes, but... is there any flexibility to adjust the design? I'm worried that the right side door of the refrigerator won't open fully because of the wall right there. If there are many units like this, then potentially there will be many refrigerators that aren't ever properly cleaned because the drawers can't be pulled out. I'd try one of: make the pantry cabinets a few inches narrower and add a filler to the right of the ref; move the pantry cabinets to the right of the ref and shift everything left; make the wall a few inches shorter (if the place isn't built yet); split the pantry cabinets so you have a narrow pull out or broom closet or whatever at each end of the run....See MoreRelated Professionals
