Schuler vs Kraftmaid cabinets
Comments (43)@Lisa Binder I'm so sorry to hear of your problems. It's almost a relief to me personally to hear stories like yours since I was so close to wanting to go with Schuler. I had read a few reviews similar to yours concerning delivery or product issues that scared me away, but to be honest, all of the lower-priced cabinetry lines have similar reviews. It's very, very common to see defective products delivered that customers have difficulty getting warranty service on. Keep at it, and hopefully someday soon you will get recourse. You might even consider filing a claim legally against the company if it comes to that. You have to go up into very high-cost cabinetry like Plato Woodworking, William Ohs, or Jay Rambo before you see 100% satisfaction guaranteed in both quality and longevity. You probably got a lot of linear footage of cabinetry for $50K from Schuler, and that same amount of cabinetry would have been more than double and possibly triple or quadruple in most of those lines I mentioned above....See MoreAmish built cabinets vs. Kraftmaid
Comments (34)When asking such a question many things depend on the answer. Not all Amish cabinets are build and made the same. Just like every carpender does not do the same quality of work. If you are just looking at the price factor that is going to be easy. Go for the cheaper price. But if your looking at the entire picture ask yourself these questions: Can I get a replacement part and or will they still be around in a year if I have a problem? Is the entire cabinet construction the same. What are the sides, backs, drawer boxes, shelves, and glides made of? Finish.....THIS IS HUGE usually a factory baked on finish will surpass any local shop as they have perfected the process and have years doing so. But that isnot to say a local guy cant do a great job. But in time you want to make sure the finish will remain as nice as they day you had it installed. This is a huge issue I have seen in the past. Custom sizes, most companies (in the lower end) use 3" sizes. Custom cabinet makers can help so fillers may not be needed as often. Ask to look at jobs they have done 6 months ago to a longer and see how the cabinets are holding up. I also have to add the point that KraftMaid is not your only option in this price point. Home centers offer that line and consumers feel they are getting a great value bc its a big box center. Only to be let down they have forgotten items and have a HUGE damage rate. If its about price I have to be honest when a client asks me to match the home centers I love it. I make more money. The home centers have won your hearts and deceived your minds in thinking big box discounts are only to be found there. Most small business can offer you a good quality cabinet for the same price and maybe even less. Educate yourself on another line and before you buy be sure your getting all the items you need and things will not be an add on later. Another line you should consider is Waypoint. I found they are a better value than KraftMaid and drop ship to your house. I never lost a job on price when quoting this line. I hope this helped and consider all your options :)...See MoreWellborn vs Kraftmaid cabinets
Comments (11)1. Don’t confuse Wellborn with Wellborn Forest. Different companies, sorta the same family, but estrangement and other issues might as well have them be strangers. KM and WB each have different levels of price and quality within their fold. If you are Comparing KM Vantage to the lesser specified WB Premiere or lower, and not their top Estate product, of course WB’s price will be lower. It isn’t a valid comparison. KM Vantage is a great mid to upper mid market line that has almost as many customizations as do some “custom” lines. WB’s Aspire frameless is a stepchild among them all, and doesnt really receive the support that it deserves. KM has no comparable frameless lines, or inset. That is KM’s market lack. WB is an odd company, and does some construction techniques differently that results in issues that they do not view as problems. They also refuse to use white oak, and only use red oak. They also penalize sellers for warranty claims or miss ships that every other company routinely assumes responsibility for and takes care of. That’s just a few among other idiosyncratic and borderline company behaviors that wouldn’t make it in a publicly held company. Because it is a family held company, they choose to create their own world. Their Estate quality is good, if you can design around their issues, but overall, I choose to not work with them due to their other issues....See MoreMedallion/Schuler Cabinets vs. Dura Supreme vs. Kraftmaid
Comments (26)Yelena, Although, my kitchen reno is still a work in progress and I can't speak on purchasing an ENTIRE Schular Cappuccino Cherry Kitchen Cabinetry, I'll be happy to share my experience. So far, I can say that I have compared prices, as well as, quality between Yorktowne, Medallion and Merillat Masterpiece. Hands down, Lowe's Schuler Cabinetry was/is the best savings for the same good quality. If I had the budget, need or desire to replace all my cabinetry as part of my Kitchen Renovation project; I would 100% recommend Lowe's Schuler Cabinetry, Cappuccino Cherry! Not to mislead or steer the topic; But my experience with Schuler's Cherry Cappuccino was/is somewhat limited to a fortunate mistake as a result of replacing my old appliances: Which was always part of my original kitchen renovation plans and budget; Including, my backsplash and countertops. In lieu of, keeping my 18 year old Yorktowne, Solid Maple Cabinetry because. my cabinetry was/is in great condition. Asides for the "Spice" stain color, I still love Yorktowne's "Hallmark/Ambrosia" door style and the amount of time spoke for the quality and my experience, By happenstance, my new appliances (Microwave & Oven) didn't fit into my old cabinet space. So, I was force to address the "Spice" stain now that I had to order a new "face front" cabinet. Which ultimately meant, I would be paying to populate the stain color that I never liked or compromise my design and new appliances. Which I felt lead me towards having the best of both worlds; Two-Tone Cabinetry (Paint and Cappuccino Stain) aka: a "fortunate mistake" because Schuler's "SAVANNAH" matches Yorktowne's "Hallmark/Ambrosia" Door Style perfectly and the Cappuccino Stain coordinates well with my new Cafe Matte White and Brush Bronze Kitchen Appliances! Now, if I can only get a response from Rob regard the flooring he used with his Cappuccino Stain Cabinets, Hope this was helpful,...See MoreTerry Royce
