ksjaustin: Pricing Medallion vs Kraftmaid
Comments (0)If you are still pricing out cabinets, go back to Lowes and ask them to also price out your layout with Schuler. Lowes' Schuler cabinets are Medallion, just different names for different styles. If you get a catalog of both brands, you can easily see which are which. Almost all the modifications that are available for Medallion are also available for Schuler, including 39" uppers....See MoreMedallion/Schuler Shipping Method
Comments (4)Our Schuler (Lowe's) cabinets were delivered a little over a year ago. So from memory... All cabinets received in great shape, no damage. Each was in a box with corner protectors (triangle shaped thingies that kept the cabinet from moving from side to side). Think there were also cardboard edge protectors on the cabinets (placed vertically on the four cabinet edges. Pretty sure the skids were wrapped in plastic. No blankets. Each cabinet's shelves were in the box with the cabinet and were laying on top of the cabinet. Then there was some hard plastic shipping tape/straps around the cabinets. Here is one of our cabinets (partially unboxed)...See MoreMedallian vs Dura Supreme vs Decora vs Custom
Comments (6)I'm getting the Medallion, Brookhill, for the kitchen and something a little different for the master bathroom, haven't decided on powder room yet as I want to pick out the limestone first and then the cabinet after that. HD seemed pleased with the construction, etc. Had Brookhaven and Woodmode in my previous home, was very happy with them but the KD told me I would double the price so........... Originally started out with someone our builder uses, custom, but I didn't like his design at all, changed things, asked for a certain thing, he ignored me and I wasn't thrilled with him. Then the builder told me that he has a hard time dealing with women, they should be seen and not heard and apparently the builder's wife had a problem with him as well and finally told him it was HER kitchen and she wanted the dishwashers where she wanted them, etc. So we went elsewhere and KD showed us Medallion.................See MoreMedallion vs. Fieldstone
Comments (20)Because each line has its own names for cabinet lines, door styles, and finishes; when comparing the two, you must be certain that you are comparing apples to apples. We did get quotes from two local Medallion dealers, but ended up purchasing Schuler from Lowes because we got a better deal. You may see some Medallion options that are not listed in the Schuler catalog; but if you have a knowledgeable sales person at Lowes, anything that Medallion offers, can be ordered from Lowes as Schuler. They all come from the same factory and the same production line. Our Schuler order was delivered in truck with Medallion graphics and two Medallion kitchens for a local dealer inside. The truckers said everything came from the same place. Only difference I noted was the paper invoice....See MoreD
