Thermador owners/users, Speak up please...
Comments (8)Thermador SGSX365CS w/extra-low owner here. And not the happiest camper about it for the first 2 years or so, you maybe could find my posts in here if you went back to 2002-2004. The star burners and extra-low & incessant clicking took a lot of getting used to. We had service out about 4 times & insisted at 1 point they replace the solenoid. The burners themselves sometimes go out during cooking, no matter the position, on low setting. The extra-low burners can fire right back up when used, or they can fire back up after 20 clicks or anything in between. Don't get me wrong, great for slow cooking rice and stews/beans, but you have to actively manage it. These days, I would describe it as surrender and ignoring the clicking as opposed to not hearing it. I've learned to accept it is safe, but it is not the smooth operating machine we hoped for. Doing it all over, I would probably go with a different brand with a conventional burner configuration, I'm suspicious the star geometry has unique gas flow problems. Looks very nice, Vent Hood is awesome....See MoreSharp Steam/Microwave/Convection

Comments (76)This is a great thread, and thanks to everyone for the insightful information! I'm wondering if you can give more details on how you clean your Wolf CSO? I watched a video for Thermador's CSO and was a bit alarmed by the evaporator well in the bottom that one has to clean with a provided yellow sponge each night. Do you find that you need to do the same with your Wolf? We had a demo at the SZ showroom and they said a simple wipe down of any moisture inside would do. Also, the chef said that at home she only needed to refill the water when needed, 1-2 times per week (and she has a family of 5). The Thermador video also said that the water should be emptied out each night. What do you do to clean/maintain the water for your Wolf? Comments (67)Speak for yourself, Homechef! I always noticed and worked with the temperatures in my old ovens! S What!, the microwave is good for a fast heat of a single thing at a time. For reheating mixed foods or several portions nothing beats a steam oven! Kim Laden, those instructions are shocking! I understand choosing an oven if there are two timers. The rest sounds like they didn't even test it during the design phase. Like with someone who cooks dinner. What model were you looking at? I just had to see for myself and looked up the manuals at AJMadison (which loads faster than Bosch): Bosch Benchmark Series HBLP651UC The kitchen timer can also be set by pressing the clock/timer touchpad at the left of the control panel. The timer input “00:00” value blinks in the center of the display. Enter the desired timer value with the numeric touchpads and press “Enter” to start the timer Bosch Benchmark Series HBLP651LUC Sideswing is the same. Cancel by touching the kitchen timer softkey or opening the door. That's the part I don't like. Losing the timer when you open the door. But that might mean that the sound of a finish timer ends then, not that it resets. I don't know. One could ask the forum. I know there are owners here. There is also something called an "oven timer" which will turn off the oven when it hits zero....See MoreM
