This is a picture of my page on Photobucket. You will notice the terrible arrows I tried to draw, pointing to the code you need to copy. This screen should look the same as yours: That is the HTML code you see when you hold your cursor over the photo you choose. This is a shot of the picture when I double click the photo, it opens the photo and these boxes appear next to the photo. Same thing, just click the HTML box, then come here to Garden Web and paste in the body of your post...as I am doing: Try it, you should find it easy. Comments (12)Re-read my posting and realize it sounds rather prudish... A few years ago we were discussing if it was safe or not to post Gooogle satellite pictures of our properties on the Forum. Marshall wanted to show that he could find one's exact location by the information on these photos. In Photobucket I had a map saved, but it had not been posted here, which included the co-ordinates of our home. It was all harmless and in good fun, but made me realize to BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PUT IN PHOTOBUCKET because everyone can see it. Comments (0)To imbed images in your GardenWeb posts there are three steps: 1. Digitize photos 2. Upload pics to the internet (hosting site) 3. Link to the pics Digitize Many people have digital cameras, which automatically digitize their pics. You can also have your photos developed with a company which will save your pics onto a CD. There are other photo developing companies which will upload your pics onto an 'album' created for you on their web site. A last option is to scan your pics manually. Upload to the Internet Most of the free image hosting sites have disappeared but if you'll check the properties of a photo inserted into a GW message (place cursor on pic, select right mouse button, then select Properties> you can see which image hosting site that person uses. Another way to find image hosting sites is to do a search for "free image hosting". There are many free image hosting sites but very few allow direct linking - that is, allow your pic to appear from within a GW message. Once you've chosen an image hosting site you'll need to follow the instructions on that site to upload the images from your computer. Generally it involves creating a userID, creating albums, then navigating thru your computer to specify the location of the pic(s) you want to upload. Link GardenWeb allows HTML coding within the body of a message. The format of that HTML is: [img src=""] where you use less than symbols instead of the [ and ]. 6 years agoSo here it is straight. I couldn't add this with the photo uploader from another website, but I saved it to my junk file and had no problem uploading it from my computer. They probably disabled the web loader because of bandwidth or their own copyright issues. I only upload other people's photos if they get a commercial benefit from it--this is advertising for this sugar sieve.
