I replaced my old leaky faucet with a high arc pull down faucet and noticed that the spray hits more to the front of the sink than the old faucet. In my remodel, I'd like to have a rear drain sink to maximize workspace in the sink and storage space under the sink. I would think that there would be no chance of the spray hitting the faucet. FOr those who have this setup, do you have a problem with splashing? Does the water drain well? If you have a picture that would be great. thanks!

Blanco has a couple of great silgranit sinks with offset drains. One is offset to the middle back, and one is offset to the corner in back. I love silgranit sinks. They never get water spots like stainless. They are quieter than stainless. They don't scratch like cast iron. Do a search at the bottom of the page for granite sinks, or silgranite, or silgranit. They are really fab! Oh, and pretty too with several colors available. The one I'm planning is the Precis with the middle back drain. It has a quilted bottom so water drains easier. I can't remember the name of the other, but if you go to faucet direct.com and use their filter search you should find them both.

akchi-town: Thanks for the note. Re-reading my post, I did not express myself clearly. "RR" was supposed to mean "right rear" (or corner-offset). I have indeed looked at Handcrafted Metals. In fact, I realized after I posted that I should have referenced them. I have not actually asked them for a quote, but the prices for their stock and custom sinks are still beyond what I was comfortably willing to spend. By not contacting them, I think I was sorta avoiding temptation, if you know what I mean! ;-) I think I will at least get a price from them, though. I have no real restrictions in size. I had originally been looking for a very small sink (21") to allow me to use a small cab, so that I could have room in my layout for other things. GW helped me realize I would be better to use a full-size sink cab (36") and eliminate a separate cab for recycling. Hence my need for a corner-offset drain, so I can squeeze recycling under the sink. I think my ideal size would be about 24 to 26". Funny, it seems to me that there aren't a lot of sinks in this range -- they seem to jump from 22 to 30". (Plenty of exceptions, of course.) Another desideratum that I didn't list in the first post was that I would prefer a shallower bowl, about 8" max. I like everything about the Elkay except two: I'd prefer copper, and I'd like what Franke calls an "integral ledge" to hold a grid or cutting board at an elevated height. My sister has that feature, and I love it. There is an interplay with size here: one thought is to abandon the integral ledge, and get a wider sink instead. Then I could put a draining rack off to one side in the sink to serve the same purpose. But this solution wouldn't be my first choice.

I have to respectfully disagree with Anglophilia. I am in my second kitchen with a sink with an offset drain. Each has had a 3/4 hp batch feed Waste King disposal which is a pretty large model. No issue with fitting it under the offset drain. I suppose the case may be different with different sinks, so Anglophilia has a good point that it would be a good preemptive idea for the OP to check her disposal and under-sink dimensions. I have not had an issue though with 2 sinks. One advantage of an offset drain is that the disposal is off to the side leaving more of a clear area under the sink for storage (vs the disposal hanging in the center of the storage area).
