The FP and Roseville pretty well peg it as Friendship. I am from the area and have the same pattern in a set of soup bowls. Mine also have the FP in the logo, but have two hands shaking. Friendship is the only pottery I know of that has been in Roseville (I used to work for McCoy pottery there) who used those initials in their trademark. Oh, I found a link you may be interested in. It's the history of Hull Pottery, who sold out to Friendship. Friendship pottery burned in 1993, so your piece was produced before then. It is a modern piece, as you already know, but since the facility is defunct, should become collectable. I do genealogy research for the area, which was named at one time the pottery capital of the world, and the Hull family, as well as the Crooks, and the Wilburs all of whom owned those potteries is in my lineage. It was a very common occupation for nearly two centuries here. My Mother worked Shawnee, as well as some other smaller potteries. A new Goodwill opened up in Pierre. They built a big new building. Yesterday was the first time I was in it. It has been open for 2 weeks now I think. There weren't very many people in there. I probably won't be going back either. I know they brought loads of stuff in here that didn't sell any place else. They have racks and racks of clothes. I had found a couple of tshirts, but I held them up and you could see through them. So I put them back. all of there odds and ends stuff is on top of the clothes racks. I am short and I am not going to try to look at stuff that is not even organized. Looked like it was just thrown up there. Hardly anything was marked and if it was it was overpriced. I wanted to use the bathroom but I couldn't find one. There was one door that was marked employees only. I am sure that was probably it. If they built that big of a building you would have thought they would put a bathroom in it. A lot of the clothes looked old. Even the games looked old. There were a lot of ashtrays too. I can't even think of anyone even wanting to buy an ashtray. I haven't seen one for years. Maybe I was too picky I don't know. I will go to the other thrift store. All the clothes are clean and newer. I have bought sets of sheets there for 4.00 and they have them marked if they are deep pockets or not. It may not be as big put I think it is cheaper and the quality is better. Their help is all volunteer and the money goes to help the needy. I have heard that Goodwill gives very little to charity. I can't remember what their sign says. I know one part says something about employing people. I heard on the radio one day they had 13 employees and were looking for 2 more. WOW so they must each get a few hours a week.

Lilym there was a set of black dishes up on freecycle here. I emailed and asked for them, but haven't heard back. I didn't tell them I wanted to break them!!LOL I doubt they'd understand!! Maria

I'm back--thanks for all the advice! I decided to skip the dresser (DH just didn't want to mess with something that wasn't well made to begin with) and only brought home the burl/chrome console. Tradewind, I didn't get a chance to read your posts until I got home, but you have me really excited now! This piece is really gorgeous in a room with decent lighting. Very, very heavy and solid. Really well made. Thanks for clueing me in on who the designer may be--if/when I deide to resell it that will be a huge help. I do agree with everyone that something with cabinets/doors would be preferable and I do intend to now take my time looking. The right thing will come along, I know it. But for now, I'm LOVING the look of this. The good thing is that television and console are on a wall that backs up to unfinished basement, so all the wires are fed behind the wall thus minimizing the ugly wire mess. Oh yeah, while I was picking up the console at Salvation, they had just put out a pair of similar vintage rust velvet swivel bucket chairs. These things don't look like they've ever been sat in. They were $20 each! They're going in the room as well, and I love the way they look with the console. I promise to post pics as soon as I can--I'm finishing up staining/painting the dresser that is headed to Boston tomorrow for DDs apartment--that's coming out great and I'll post pics of that as well.
