Can anyone help me with upholstery fabrics?
Comments (18)Bestyears, I'm glad you liked the link! I was actually looking for supplies when I run across that site on google and was surprised at all their fabrics. Les, Outdoor fabric is a really good idea! They seem to lend themselves to being more graphic and colorful. I did come across some outdoor fabric by Robert Allen .. I think it was in his Beacon Hill group. It looks like it might only be open to the trades though, although I'm still trying to trace a source. Sally, I have thought about going solid on the sofa and then bringing in patterens with pillows. I've also thought about mixing solids and patterns on the sofa in a way that it would make matching the fabrics easier for me. Since I'm going for a kind of funky, cottage look I think I could get away with that okay. Comments (1)Where are you getting it slipcovered? When I got a quote on getting my chairs slipcovered I had the same problem but the upholsterer had many different weights and types of fabrics available to order. Does your upholsterer not have access or are you using a private person? The problem with using something underneath is that with a white cover you will likely be washing it fairly often and it will be a pain to arrange an underlayer each time. Maybe you could staple the underlayer on?...See MoreCould You Help me find an Upholstery fabric? With Pictures Part 2

Comments (7)Sorry i added some pics of the fabric on the seat- I bought 4 yards to cover all 6 chairs and really dont want to cut into it until I'm sure I like it. Dining room table is dark wood stained top and white legs that match the chairs. Living room is very relaxed, tribal/bogo style. Its a mess right now but Ill try to find a pic somewhere....See MoreMary Elizabeth
