Super tiny grey bugs?
Comments (2)Dont suppose you could get one to pose for a picture? Probably a bit too small unless you have a high Megapixal camera. I dont know but if your plant has been having problems, I would assume maybe these little bastards might have something to do with it. Maybe since they are coming in and out of the soil, they are damaging the roots somehow. Just my opinion, but as Romy6 says, "Break out the 7 dust". Comments (2)Use some seaweed mix with fish emulsion and in a few weeks you will be fine best to stay away from Miracle Grow if you plan on actually eating from your plants, peppers do so much better on natural components rather than synthetic ferts... Comments (15)I'm comfortable calling them root aphids. The symptoms seem to fit and they do seem to look right (at least in person). I've already discarded both plants and will have to keep an eye on the other ones that were nearby. We used a commercial potting mix, but I can't remember which one- it was something different than normal and the bag got discarded. I think there must have been contamination of the soil at some point, because the 2 plants were definitely thriving before we repotted. I suppose it's possible that they had a small infestation and then the stress of being repotted allowed the aphids to get the upper hand...but I tend to believe it was the soil, since it was also contaminated with fungus spores. Thanks for the help...See MoreTiny, Tiny orange bugs in my flower pots?
Comments (5)They were mostly just around the inside of the lip of the pot but some were on the dirt just crawling around, i dont remember any really burrowing or anything but there were and are gnats around because of a bad bag of soil.. I just checked and they're all over the soil as well but i cant really see them doing anything significant? There's a sprout that popped up today though and it looks healthy and bright green so i dont think the roots are being attacked but against the soil they look more grey/tan but against everything else orange.. Oh! And im in the Center of California, Visalia...See MoreAndrea Carey
