If you are wondering where all the Robins are....
Comments (9)I haven't seen robins or my blackbirds that usually come flocking into my oak trees. Last year, the robins came through and one tiny baby one got left behind. He sat in the top of a bald cypress next door crying, and I was afraid they would not come back for him, but sure enough, mama hightailed it back for her baby and they flew off together. If they hadn't, I don't know what would have happened to that little one, since we have a red-shouldered hawk around here that snatches up baby birds like jelly beans!...See MoreYou are all wonderful human beings...
Comments (3)Theresa, I am sorry for your loss; I lost my Mom Feb. 25, 2009. She had been sick for about a year, we expected it, but it doesn't make it any easier to accept that this is forever. I wanted to share a little with you about how I deal with missing my Mom. I went out and bought a journal with her favorite colored paper (purple), and I took her perfume (White Diamonds) and misted the pages a little with it. I take a few minutes each day and write to her about the days events, or how much I missed her, or problems that have came up that only she could have helped me with, or just a happy memory of something we shared, and although I know she is not going to give me the answers I am looking for, sometimes I can see things much clearer when I finish writing. Sometimes, days later, when I go back and read I find myself laughing that I was stressing over "that" whatever "that" might have been. The point I am getting at is the purple paper and her perfume bring me close to her memory and I find myself looking forward to those few minutes I spend remembering the good times, instead of dreading the time the feeling of loneliness is going to set in. Thanks for listening, Lisa...See MoreLa Cornue service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Comments (3)@Anne, what’s funny is that I am a trumpet player and have polished numerous trumpets over the past 45 years. Some are silver plated, some have a protective lacquer, and some are raw brass. The plating can be delicate and proper selection of tools and materials can make a huge difference and in some cases even damage a very fine musical instrument. It is from that perspective that I approached our new range. I wasn’t sure if the polished brass bits were solid brass or if they were lacquered! Good news is that they are solid and can be nicely polished as frequently as my OCD demands. Ha!...See MoreOT wondering what you all do when you can't get out in the gardens.
Comments (39)They are indeed Hedgehogs, Signet. DIL chose the pattern...reason little one was all scrunched up in her ultrasounds every time...so they called her "Hedgie". Each of those squares was 30 individual pieces, so it was a bit of pressure to get it done in the two weeks before her shower. The book quilt was to honor my daughter's graduation with a BSN. She has been an RN for 10 years, and she is currently working full time and in school to become a nurse practitioner. I actually enjoyed designing that bookshelf quilt and kind of hated finishing it.. There is one column of blocks that doesn't show in this photo, and other details like a coffee cup with her name and a book showing collectible shoes since she collected the glass miniatures at one time. this kind of quilt should become a heirloom. I did the clock twice because the first time it didn't look right and spent a day doing the stethoscope block. Fun though...Mantis, DIL likes pink s and purples for the girls thus the colors. Glad y'all liked them. kay...See MoreRelated Professionals
