Best dishwasher and 24" under counter wine fridge?

I have bought all of my other appliances (sub zero column freezer and fridge, Wolf microwave, oven and gas range) and now I am looking for a dishwasher and 24" under the counter integrated or built in wine fridge. Recommendations please?

I have had nothing but good experiences with both Miele and Bosch. Some prefer Miele and some prefer Bosch but I would go with whichever one I was able to find the best deal on. The Meile, is slightly higher quality components (in my opinion) but Miele imposes requirements on installation that raise the cost further so you need to take that into account. The reliability of the Bosch units is well established.

I purchased the KA CD FD 72" high model last fall and so far I really like it. I seriously looked at the Liebherr but in the end I really needed white not stainless - wish the Liebherr had come in white. Whilst I really liked the Liebherr produce drawers (much bigger than on the KA) I also like the split shelves on the KA that I can adjust as two columns. I thought this unit was vastly overpriced relative to the shorter model and the standard depth units, but I really liked the upgraded interior and the hidden hinges etc on the 72", and especially the better sliding produce drawers, so I sprung for it. It would be great if the produce drawers were were larger and deeper like on the Liebherr but I use the veggy green bags and store the extra produce on the glass shelf just above the drawers. It is reasonably quiet, but then I have it where the noise is not an issue in any case. The ice maker seems to work fine for us - but this is my first fridge with ice and so that is already a luxury for me. I could do without the water dispenser - the water tastes disgusting and plasticy. We do not use it and I wish it were not there. My ideal would be to have only the icemaker, no water! For me this was the best fridge outside the Liebherr. However, I could not justify the expense of the Libeherr when I would be compromising on the stainless vs the white. Good luck!

Sincere thanks to everyone who posted threads and pics to help the spatially challenged! Sombreuil and Cawfeegirl, your kitchens are beautiful! The wall into which our fridge would have to be recessed is on the exterior of the house, and we live in a pretty cold climate, so the whole concept may be a non-starter. We may have to make the style of handle a bigger issue than something like that should ever be, just trying not to protrude any further than necessary. Either that, or it's back to the drawing board to reconfigure the design yet again!

You may know this, but if not. Pay attention to the temp the unit can hold if that matters to you. There is a difference between undercounter coolers. Some, by design, can not get below 40. We have a profile in the basement that will not go below 40. We like our drinks colder and sometimes keep dairy in an upstairs frig for guests, so need a real little frig up there. We have a magic chef in the kitchen that can hold 38, but I don't think they make it any more. We lay wine bottles flat on the top shelf, the middle is good for cans, the bottom is good for beer bottles. Great little unit. You don't want white wines that cold for long, so we only put the wines there we plan to consume in a few days. Here is an idea -- take out the top shelf when you have wine. Or, lay wine flat on the top shelf. Or, take out the middle shelf and put in a rack to make a shelf over the bottom shelf on one side and keep wines on the other side on the bottom. Bosch! Quiet and incredibly effective. Would never go back.

No opinion on wine fridges -- have yet to bump into one that didn't have mostly negative reviews...

Miele and Bosch make the best dishwashers (based on the love people have for them on GW). We have a Miele and love it. And Bosch has many fans. One suggestion I've read is to take your dishes with you to see how they fit in the dishwashers you're considering, as some have said their dishes didn't fit well in certain models.

We have a Miele 24" wine fridge and have been very happy with it. Three years and no problems. ULine also makes wine fridges that people seem to like a lot too. So I'd check them out as well.

I have had a Liebherr beverage and outdoor fridge for 2+ years with no issues, and they are dead silent. They also make wine fridges. We also considered Perlick but we came out far better pricewise with Liebherr. In our previous home we had. Uline for over 5 years, and it performed flawlessly; however, they have changed their design, and I have heard a few in showrooms and new homes that are not nearly as quiet as the one we had. Our builder had a client that put in Monogram wine fridges and they seemed quiet when I was looking at the home.

Totally agree about Miele and Bosch dishwashers. I have had both and prefer my Miele with the open air drying system and rack configurations as well as overall build quality. As the above poster suggests - go look at them and see which one will work best for you.
