I think the damages on the leave look like the work of worms/caterpillars. Many work during the night. If you go out with a flashlight, you may catch them in action. Hope you compare those bugs with pictures of ladybug's stages. Floral is probably right.

FWIW, like Dave suggests, as long as the plants don't lose more than 1/3 of total foliage, they'll likely be ok. That damage looks healed over already & I don't see any holes in the new growth. That said, it may be cutworm or another similar caterpillar - they hide during the day. Cutworms burrow into loose soil/mulch around the base of plants & 'sleep' during the day. Bt can be used against caterpillars, but handpicking is often enough to control them in my garden. You can use iron phosphate bait for slugs & snails - it's pretty safe & degrades into fertilizer. I sprinkle the pellets around my tender new seedlings & transplants.

Looks like black aphids, which plague my Echeveria flowers. Any number of "organic" methods will work: a smothering treatment of horticultural oil (read and follow package directions) or insecticidal soap (read and follow package directions) or if flowering is completed, spinosad (read and follow package directions). Aphids can be dislodges with strong blasts of water from the hose, but I have found the black aphids to be unusually persistent and difficult to control with just water blasts. A friend gave me a container fig tree, he says was from Greece. I replanted it in the ground here in Ohio. It grew to about 7 Ft. tall this summer and produced some figs. I do not know the name of the fig. Does anybody know the type I have? The inside is a reddish purple and sweet. (I don't have a pic of the inside)
