When you bring home brand new houseplants

Sage TX 9a

I just picked up this delightful little Pearls & Jade Pothos (Epipremnum aureum 'pearls and jade'). Very much living up to its name!

I've pruned off the dead/dying leaves & given it a thorough and hopefully unnecessary prophylactic spraying with diluted neem oil. It's on the other side of the room from the rest of the plants while I (a) figure out where it's going, and (b) keep an eye on it for any surprise critters. (Last week I brought home a surprise army worm caterpillar in a catnip plant from the grocery store. Eeep!)

Anyway, I'm curious about new plant protocols. When you bring a new houseplant home, do you do a full quarantine? Wash the leaves by hand? Repot/pot up immediately (if appropriate to your climate)? Plop it on a windowsill and forget about it? If you'd like to share your process, I'd love to read about it.
