Comments (73)I found this one to be quite funny. This guy hopefully didn't quit his day job to become a salesman!! Really, really ugly coffee table - $5 (77065 Cy Fair) Okay, this coffee table is ugly. It's REALLY ugly. I can't even believe I'm trying to sell it, it's so ugly. But it's also VERY sturdy. You can sit on it without even worrying about it collapsing beneath you. It'd be really a great thing for someone who just needs SOMETHING to put a big TV on, who wants to bedazzle furniture, or who doesn't want to send the "good" old coffee table to college with her son. I mean, hey, we all need some utility furniture at one time or another, right? Maybe you even want it to refinish it and sell it for megabucks... I promise I won't judge you for buying it if you won't judge me for having it to sell in the first place! We will be home tonight (Sunday) between 6 and 8 if you want to come see it. If you can't come then, just drop me a line and let me know whenuld be a better time for you, and we'll work it out.Disclaimers: As is. Cash money only. No refunds. Comments (6)Here is what the layout looks like now. We will be taking two feet of space from the adjacent bedroom labeled 3rd bedroom/office, and adding to to the kitchen. The remining space in that bedroom will be turned into a small bathroom and closet. The double windows in the kitchen will be opened up to a door (still trying to decide on size and whether to use a standard sized door and keep one of the windows.and the half bath will be removed. The door on the other side of the current 1/2 bath leads to the garage, and the area on the other side of the bar is the living room. My plan is to create a U-shaped kitchen down where the new wall will be, then across where the current closet and bar is, with a peninsula down the center with 4 feet from counter to counter. My concern is the space for a small dining area. It is a tiny 3 bedroom rancher, and at most there will be 2 people in the kitchen at any point. I hope I answered all your questions. Please let me know if that helps....See MoreNew garage and room addition question
Comments (12)Thanks Dan, yes, I agree. That’s what feels odd about it. The house has some of this glass exposure naturally built in. There’s walls of glass on the back of the house, and you can see into rooms from other rooms, although not into private rooms. I thought of privatizing the interior, but I think I’d rather put something outside to privatize the space. Here is an idea, where the green line represents a screen wall, or a living green wall, but not too high as to feel claustophobic. Here is how the back of the house looks with all the glass. You can see from the left side all the way through to the far end of the house....See MorePlease help with deciding on Open to Below or not
Comments (50)In looking at your new lot and with considering set back requirements, I don't see how you can do a side or back entry garage, without loosing back yard. The size of your entry is such that I would consider redesigning the stairway to more contemporary look rather than side by side steps. Stairs need to be carefully designed to work right, so keep that in mind. Code requirements might be difficult but I would sure try it. The current configuration is kind of "townhouse" look? Just think about that. Your entry is the "introduction" to what you are about! You seem to have a contemporary elan so work on that some to refine your design....See Morelefty47
