23 year old, going thru a divorce wants to date my 16 yr old
Comments (26)I once knew a popular girl in high school (16) who also dated a 23 year old. Then one day she told us she was getting married and Friday was her last day of school(at 16)! We never saw her again. As we graduated and moved on with our lives, every once in a while I would wonder why she was in such a hurry to grow up and how she missed so, so much. Those years were so much fun, especially into the 20's... and I imagined her at 16 living the life of everyone else's mom...doing laundry, cleaning the house, etc. I don't not know if she had kids right away of not. I imagine they lived in some dumpy place because they were too young to have any money, and since she never graduated, I do not imagine that there were any great job offers coming her way. I also imagine at some point she looked back and was furious at her parents for letting her do this, and not stopping her. She had so much going for her, and settled for so little....See MoreNeed help with young man's bedroom ,please
Comments (11)"DSes"=Dear Sons. LOL. Thank you, both. Why didn't I think of Jonathan Adler? I've been looking for Suzani-ish prints with the colors in Marcolo's post. DS not thrilled, so far, with Ikat, Suzani, or paisley. I will run both of your responses by the DS. Poof out; already has a brown leather and a black leather cube, and will reuse one of those. Also built bookshelves and stained them to match existing bedroom furniture. The lines of that lamp would definitely appeal to him. Off to see what he thinks about the sites. More thoughts welcome!...See MoreNeed help converting to a toddler boys bedroom!
Comments (12)I would hang the decal on his door (back or front). Kids love photos of themselves and photos of their family. So at the foot of his bed I would hang a print (could even be a canvas wrap) of him with his family in the largest size you can afford. EDIT: make sure you hang it low, so he can see it easily! Or you could do a collage frame with shots of various extended family members. My little guy loves pointing out the people he knows in photos (he'll be three in March) and it helps little ones feel a connection with family who is far away that they might not see often, if that is a situation you can relate to. Other than that, a low pile rug that he can drive cars and build with blocks on and you're finished! It's a perfect room for a little one to grow up in: just enough room to play and small enough to tidy easily, a neutral wall colour to let his imagination do the work, a big mirror for dress-up days and making faces and generally admiring himself. Good job! Oh, and about the window, go with the code spacing for railings when determining the safety (I think it's 4"). If he can back his body out and his head gets trapped, oh no....See MoreHelp needed with finishing out master bedroom please.
Comments (71)katlea, thank you for letting us know that your wall color is BM Dove White and the trim is BM Simply White. I never would have thought the two whites would look so nice together and give that peaceful look. I love your bedroom just the way it is (or similar to the last picture but maybe one picture above the bed or two or three small pictures instead of five). You are giving me courage to post my bedroom for advice as I have been struggling on what do do with the wall color or paint my headboard or get a new headboard as well as when I have time to remove the old wall to wall carpet....See Morekittymoonbeam
