I know you said you already decided but I am curious how major your remodel is and if you will have to set up a temporary kitchen? I ask b/c that is what we had to do and for that I got the Breville countertop oven and fell in love with it. For the real kitchen I have an Advantium Speedoven/Microwave but we designed a spot for the Breville to live in the pantry. So far the need to microwave and heat something in the small oven at the same time, hasn't occured but if and when it does, I can use the Advantium as the main microwave and the Breville as a back up oven.

[What I wrote for a similar post] I got the Advantium oven and it's just about my most favorite purchase ever. I'm a completely lazy cook. Love to cook but hate to do it as a daily chore. The oven overall is amazing. I bought the 220v and it does so much that we hardly ever use the Monogram convection oven we bought to go with it. Speedcook has almost 200 presets that help it get just the right combination of halogen, microwave, and convection. French fries come out perfect in 4 minutes. Crescent roles perfectly brown in about the same time. Tonight we made fantastic Yukon Gold baked potatoes in 8, better than the 60 minute ones cooked in the oven. Meat, pizza, just about anything comes out great. And my husband can do it with no problem. It also works as a microwave, a regular oven, and a convection oven. It's so terrific and really well worth saving for. I liked the Trivection wall oven too but decided not to spring the extra $600 for it since everyone told me I'd hardly use the regular oven with the Advantium. The store had both the Advantium and a much cheaper Electrolux speedcook. I went and spent an hour trying them both. In the end, the user interface of the Advantium was so much better and easier to use that I decided to go for it. Haven't regretted it for a second. I saved money on the convection oven, fridge, cooktop and microwave to be able to afford it. Britt [Forgot to mention that it has proof and warming features. I'm curious to know how your oven installation has worked. I'm finalizing my cabinet layout this week and would like to install the Monogram French door oven above the Advantium if possible. Thanks for your help!

A toaster oven is immensely more versatile and functional than a pop up toaster, agreed. I abhor those over the range microwaves. They get in the way of having a proper hood with a vent and they always feel as if they are taking up vertical space over the tops fo the pots. Plus, most of them are mounted at a height that does not suit my reach. I am always careful of the one at my daughters house when taking something hot out of their MW. That is another thing that I have given up on. I don't have a microwave. Since the last one died, I never replaced it. I don't miss it one little bit and just never even think about it. I, personally, find no use for one. I know that many people do use theirs, but all I ever did was to bake potatoes in it. That is about all. I have four good cast iron skillets that serve an immense number of needs. There is no cooking surface like a piece of hot iron for so many things. I even "toast" bread in my hot skillet. jasdip, that style of oven looks to be a better design than does that one with the double doors on it. At least yours opens in one fail swoop. . My mother had a small electric oven on the countertop that she used for years. But, that was back a long time ago when so many things were better made. It did not do double duty as a toaster. It was an oven. It looks like your loaves of bread have reached the height limit. I have a double oven range. The small upper oven has a broiler in it. If we need a toaster kind of a thing, that is what we use. I don't think I have used the full size oven in years. I just store baking pans in it. I love having the double oven with the small one. All I ever need is a small oven.
