Good afternoon!

I tried to go to bed early last night, didn't happen as early as I wanted but at least it wasn't 8 am again. Went out late last night to get some batteries for my boom box. I was trying to listen to a book on cd from the library since it's due on Sunday. The boom box was in my daughter's possession for years. It's a Sony I bought some 30 years ago when I was in Germany. The cord is missing. I have no idea what she did with it. The player works great but the batteries are expensive.

Anyway, I got some batteries and decided to pick up some dog food. I was going to get a smaller bag since the 50 lbs bags are hard for me to pick up but after seeing the price between the two and how much more expensive the smaller bag is, I decided to wrestle with the giant bag. It was surprisingly easy to pick up this time. I don't know if it's the yoga/Barr I'm going or what? I've gotten so weak in the last few years. Even my hands and opening things. When I worked on the med-surg unit before changing jobs, I was having a heck of a time opening iv bags. They have an outer, thick bag you have to tear off. I resorted to using scissors the last couple years even though they are pre-slit for opening. Just couldn't get them open.

Anyway, time to exercise. Hope you all have a great day. It's sunny and warm here in central KY. Will go out and pick some tomatoes and do some weedeating and trimming of bushes later.

I have spent the whole day wearing work out clothes- and have yet to work out :-(

I love the effects of staying fit, but I still have to make myself go out there and do the work- I have zero natural desire to lift weights, run or do calisthenics. I love to play tennis, wear nice clothes and eat well, so exercise I must.

BTW, I do Barre Method as well- that is one amazingly good workout. I saw results in two or three sessions. But I go because I want the results, no enjoyment for me at all.

I worked my tutu off today. Honestly I have no idea where all the dust comes from. The base of the TV in the family room is shiney black and OMG it was so dusty. I thought to myself shame on you Mama what if someone happened to drop by and saw your pig pen..than I remembered outside of my kids no one visits. Lol. So it was a long day of housework. Than during dinner clean up I thought I really should scrub the frig out but decided to save it for morning. I have some deep cleaning I'd like to get done before the holidays providing I can find the energy which isnt looking very promising.

Good afternoon :-) Great find Nicole. DH brings not very exciting stuff home for me like fence material and things like that. Much appreciated but not very fancy even though it is free :-) he gets it on his job sites. When they are throwing stuff away they ask him if he wants it. I'm here having pizza with my husband. well sort of. he got a business call so I'm talking to you. My view outside the window is one of a traditional Vancouver gray rainy day. You can see me often with whole over layer of wool, hat, gloves, sweater, with a down vest,. Also a thin Merino wool underlayer which you can't see of course, and wool socks. I walk dogs as part of my living so wool keeps me warm even when I'm wet. I have to go and make a call about my accounting software today yuck. Then it's time to make chicken curry dinner. Happy Thursday all :-).

I've been out running errands today. I dropped some tchotchkes off at a local charity that has a small gift shop, ran by the vet to pick up a refill for Katie's anti-inflammatories, returned a library book and picked up two more and I got a haircut. Stopped off for a quick lunch and back out for grocery shopping.

My late MIL collected kittens, lighthouses and assorted sweet figurines that I've held onto for years in hopes that I could find another family member to take home. She was my husband's stepmom and had no children of her own. No one was interested including our kids. They are just too 'pretty' for me. I hope that they sell down at the caring center. It's a local charity that helps people with food, clothing and utility bills.

We also have huge stacks of my MIL's family photos, her parents, brothers, and sisters and their kids. None of the actual family wants any of them. I don't know why that distresses me, but it does and I'll hang onto them anyway until something forces me to shed them.

You could scan the photos and upload them, with their information, to www.deadfred.com for others to find. This site is used often by people doing genealogy research. Then you could throw out the originals.

I love the fact he brought her the tampons!!! :)

I got up early like always. I love my newly painted room. This morning I did a couple of loads of laundry, dug out some more Bermuda grass, washed dishes, and went swimming. 18 laps. After, I stopped at the grocery store, and hit their annual meat sale. Yeah. Bought a pork roast, and 12 pork steaks... and divided it up, cooked some, and froze the rest in single and two to a package ziplock bags.

Oh, I also finished my journal. I think, I have all spelling mistakes fixed.. :)

Now I still need to fold and put away my laundry...

Rita, I like the stretching in Barr. I'm such a klutz but can do the beginner exercises okay. My pants are looser! Wow, Rita, that may fit my cd player! Thank you!

PKponder, I know what you mean. I still have my mom's old sewing machine. Not her newest one, one she had from the 40s or 50s. It's a brother and all metal, still have the case. I need to give it or sell it to someone. It's just sitting there and I don't sew. Neither does my daughter.

Trimmed the bushes out front and found another #@!!&^%( tree growing up into another plant. I have a tree in the backyard growing up into my roses. Today found a tree, over 5 ft tall growing into my giant holly bush out front. I really need to get out there more often and work in the yard.

Made salmon with my daughter's boyfriend's sesame oil he left me. Now the whole house stints-lol. Made up a couple salmon meals for work and put them in the freezer, eating one now with tasteless green beans. I should've just cut up some of my tomatoes I picked from the garden..oh well.

Just bought the cord, thanks again Rita!

I am glad the cord might work out for you.

BTW I went to GRAD school- not God school :-) Though there was a great Divinity school at my university :-)

It is so hard for me to do anything on my phone, which is about the size of a deck of cards. Jody has a friend who is a computer guy. He gives him seafood all the time and he said any time I need any computer help to let him know. Jody asked him to find a laptop for me. Anyway, I need to do some FEMA stuff, so went to pawn shop and bought this one for $115. It works fine but has windows 10 which is a little difficult for me, but guess I will get the hang of it.

FEMA still hasn't been out, and we really can't do anything else until they do. So, Jody is going to try and contact them tomorrow. They have been to various neighbors...but not on the same day. We filed September 2 and they said 7 to 10 days.

I get my truck on Monday. Will be so glad. Jody bought a thousand dollar junker because we had to have something to get around. It has a hole in the radiator now, so got tp get that fixed tomorrow.

My horses are still down the road, but they are doing good....except for Mariah. Oh, she's fine, but Amos, the donkey, chewed her tail off. Just the hair...but she looks horrible. I said she is retired now. I am too embarrassed to take her out in public. She is in a separate pasture now with Val.

I am going to get Amos a companion donkey when we move them back home. I am going to find a young one...about a year old. They love to play and I hope a young one will keep him occupied and he will forget about chewing on tails. Their is no reason for him to do it....they are eating 2 bales of hay a day at almost $10 a bale, plus an excellent feed. It doesn't have anything to do with his ordeal....he did this once before, about two years ago, and it still hadn't grown out and now it is really hideous.

I didn't do much of anything, lazed around and I'll tell you it sure isn't the life for me. Lol. I just started rice pudding in the crock pot for the boys breakfast. Its just a little special Saturday morning treat. I never made it in a crock pot so hopefully it comes out ok.

Rita, I bet you have one heck of a great body.

I could not get home today! The first bus passed me and all my stop mates by like we were invisible?! We did get the next one. Got to the depot and even left on time. Accident on the interstate. Added twenty minutes to a twenty minute drive?! When we exited, at the first stop, the driver got off to go to the restroom. He was quick, but I was still ready to get home. Sigh. Then, the admin office gave an all call over the radio and he had to call in. Another ten extra minutes for his stops. Which put us in heavier traffic. Which added another ten minutes. I think I'm down to eight or nine days total of bus rides. One full week of normal (fall break). A dozen days of driving my own car, and a couple of cab rides. Then marching season will be over. I'll be sad and very glad. I was so frustrated when I got home, I spent a couple of hours digging up clumps of grass and dirt. Felt better and ate dinner. In another hour I'll begin watching the GPS system so I will know when the boy will be headed home. It'll take another hour. When he gets here, he'll want to tell me all about the football game I missed and the girls he saw. Then I'll get to go to bed. I'm ready now! Tomorrow, he'll be gone from 8 until 5. With the car. I'll be stranded at home. I'm going stir crazy

I'm watching TV awhile ago, the cat is laying on the floor beside my chair, on her back, meowing for me to interact with her. Sniff, sniff.....what tha'? Did she just??? No. Then I get a whiff of something again. Finally I have a suspicion and go to the back door and open it -yep - SKUNK. Oh my, it is so strong out there, either the poor thing has gotten run over on the road in front of my house or it's happily spraying and spritzing all over the neighborhood. I mean it's strong!

Update. I've been worried to death about my son driving, even though he's really pretty good, because he's only driven since August 10th. Tonight, he was to drive by himself, late night. First time. So more worrisome than usual. He just texted that the school bus that was transporting some of the band home, got in an accident. Ugh. He's as frustrated getting home as I was. He just wants to be home, and I just want to go to bed. Drat. Everyone is ok.

    Still sitting on the interstate...

Hopefully he's home soon and you both can relax. I hope the students on the bus are ok.

Sorry about your worry Rob333. Nothing worse than exhaustion plus worrying. Prayers that things happen quickly and he's home soon.

Rob, I hope you get your car fixed soon. All that extra traveling time must be so tiring and stressful for you.

Rob, hope he made it home okay.

He made it home at one am. We had to get up early for an all day band practice. I didn't know it but he left without his phone today. I decided to check his GPS to see how he was progressing on an unfamiliar drive. I noticed that it said disabled, but that he was at a certain point. A few minutes after that I got a phone call from a weird number I didn't know. It was to a gas station so I looked up where the gas station was, and it was the same spot where he was disabled. My phone is not working so I couldn't talk to them I had to find a neighbor who was up and had a phone. My mind went wild , thinking he was in an accident and they called me, saying he'd been taken to the hospital. I thought the car was disabled. Evidently it was his phone that was disabled. He'd only stopped at the gas station to get directions and had gone on his way band. This whole accident thing has me shell shocked. He's okay, but evidently I need to rest. I still can't figure out how the GPS knew where he was since his GPS was sitting on the kitchen counter?! Thank you for your concern. PS I will not fix the other car.

Marilyn, I hope fema gets to you very soon! Must be so frustrating to wait on them. Sorry to read about silly Amos and hope you find a new donkey for him soon! Hope he won't chew her tail off too. Is there such a think as chew toys for horses and donkeys?? Must be a nervous or an 'I'm bored' habit? Poor Mariah is probably going to get some bug bites now.

Rob, I must have missed a post about something happening to your car, or is it that your son needs it often now? I guess he passed his test--missed that too. Sorry for your bus misadventures!
