Comments (58)Jackie, Good for you! Fragrance is very important. BUT, most of the time, I can't smell most of my roses. The Rugosa Rotesmeer is the only rose I grow which consistently provides me scent. I can also smell myrrh which is probably why I like it. I can pick up a little wafting scent as I walk through the garden. It is light and pleasing. But, disappointing when you figure I have at least 30 very fragrant roses. On the other hand, the fragrance of the butterfly bushes is overwhelming. And I love my "Miss Kim" too. I do. -- Someone in their estimation decided Not to give to forum users many of the options that are given to them in other forum Software. E.g. to quote each other in subsequent posts by clicking on "quote", to post twice with no barriers to doing so, to use spaces to express meaning (all extra spaces get deleted, and extra carriage returns too, so you cannot easily add extra interline spacing), to post without reading & reviewing one's own post first, to know how many "times read", how many people have clicked on a thread. Between now and the 22nd Century, human society might begin to choose what is ultimately useless information, like how many people have clicked on the thread since it was first created. Let's understand that we don't need to know that level of detail. What we really want to know is whether the thread is worth reading and that depends on concepts and quality of contributors' input: these two things can be tracked on the side -- and eventually included as a tool in a far future version of this forum. I'm assuming you are prepared to look into the future. There are some irritants but they are of little importance. E.g. CAPS in subject line get bounced to lower-case. It is easy to program into the software a few text management constraints that then surprise You and some others, but that ultimately are a Good Thing to work around and to accept as a good thing instead of thinking that you ought to have more and more options like text formatting. I personally vote in favor of programming that brings us all back to basic text, so all use of Upper Case IN ENTIRE WORDS be converted into lower case so that upper case only be available for word-initial use. Don't love the search function here... the way it's date-oblivious and doesn't allow you to select a date-RANGE. Hits for a particular keyword brings up a thread from 5 YEARS ago, followed by one from 5 DAYS ago, followed by one from 5 MONTHS ago, etc... But workarounds are easy, and in the future an access tool would get around it easily. Let's discuss bigger things: what would be useful to help you track the things you want to track and to find the information you want and to call upon the right community (people) when you need them and to be relatively sure that your requests are well received -- this would be a tool for which I would pay to have special access....See MoreAm I the only one who doesn't use a Crock Pot?
Comments (64)I found this pork chop recipe originally on pinterest. Since I use my Aroma multi cooker I can do it all in one pot because I set it on saute first to brown the meat and cook the onions etc then just switch it over to the slow cooker setting for how ever many hours it calls for. Yay! only one dirty pot that is a breeze to clean. I usually serve it with some type of rice and add the sauce over the rice as a gravy. I like the very thick bone in chops but I have done this with thick boneless pork loin chops too, there's only the 2 of us. Crock Pot Maple Dijon Pork Chops Ingredients: 2 large bone-in pork chops 1 large yellow onion, chopped 3 tbsp pure maple syrup 2 tbsp dijon mustard 1/4 cup cider vinegar 1/4 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 1 tbsp vegetable oil Directions: Heat up the oil in a large skillet over high heat. When hot, add the pork chops and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Sear both sides of chops over high heat (about 2 minutes per side) then transfer to your Crock Pot. Lower the heat to medium low and add the onions. Cook until onions are just starting to soften then add the cider vinegar, maple syrup, mustard, salt and pepper. Cook for 2 more minutes and then pour sauce over chops in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6-7 hours. Serve chops drizzled generously with sauce....See MoreAm I the only one who hates this?
Comments (96)While talking to a guy building a new home nestled among upscale houses in a nearby village, I told him that if you'd told homeowners of World War II variety that in modern days they've been taking wood chips, mixing them with glue, making them into sheets and using them to build walls of houses, they'd have laughed at you and said that no way would they consider paying their good money to buy a piece of crap built like that! It's not unusual to see buildings in Europe 300 - 500 years or more old. Have you ever seen such in our area?
