Help ID'ing some succulents

Hello all!

A few weeks ago I was given some succulent cuttings by a friend. They seem quite etiolated, and they look as though they've been through tough times. I laid them out on a paper towel to fully callous over. I recently potted them into a mix of 50/50 perlite and C&S soil. IDs would be appreciated!

1. Maybe a sedum of some kind?

(There are 5 individual cuttings and two leaves that fell off during potting)

2. I know this is a jade-would it be possible to identify the variety?

3. This might be an echeveria of some kind?

Cant ID the first one, sorry, but can say you may have been better begeading those cuttings and getting them to root just under the rosettes, as now, they will always look stalky. New growth will be at the top elongating the look even more.

Pic is a bit dark but mix still looks very dark = peaty, has it really got half perlite, looks very c/s haevy to me, maybe go with even more perlite, it can't hurt. Also, what's that in the saucer? It needs to be free of anything to allow water to evaporate away. No sitting water, nothing in it to hold onto water and create humidity around your plant. Don't water cuttings till they're rooted, they hold enough water in their tissues to cope for weeks w/out watering.

Ohhh I see Malaysia is a bit different from me When #4 was in flowering for me Sun time here at longest is about 15.75 hours buds where easy to see and nearly ready to open and did so with lesser sun light time and finished flowering 12 days later. Temps where in the 80 - 92 F range at the same sun times mentioned and the time of day mine opened was 16:00 hours to 23:00 hours For now I can say your heaviest rain season might be a bit much for #4 although the soil you have it in does look nice enough to drain fast enough. Again odd #4 Messeb like water more than most succulents but doesn't like wet roots for to long of time in days the top will rot out on you if to wet to long. Your other plants would certainly benefit with a lot less water than #4 can handle Other than a season rain over watering concern I have think you'll do very well with yours. As caution I think it would be best if you could provide a tarp or tent for some over head covering during your heavy tropical rain season over the entire garden bed. I and others here appreciate you and want to see your plants in there best of flowering later too. In all honesty it's best to tell you to talk to some of your local people with the same succulent garden passion as yours and ask them what they do.

Thank you seemoney!! I will repot this thingy and put it by itself in a dryer, lighted area place. I had to laugh, is Siberia zone 2b as well? LOL..I am actually in Northern, Saskatchewan, Canada. Our winters get to about -45 Celsius for 8 months a year. Growing season starts in the end of May and goes to august..sometimes u can have plants still growing by september but not often. It's a hell hole living here for plant fanatics like me. I have all my plants in the house, taking over my living room!!! Oh, and 2 sets of metal hallides that I use all year round even in the summer..It's a horrible place to live..but hey..it's home.

A possibility for you on that 2nd one in the last bunch: Aeonium sedifolium (which was my first thought, but I nixed it, as your plant's leaves are not so plump as I would think it to have...but it does have the tannic stripes/coloring). Still, I would not say this is IT. :P Would like to see its blooms, if/when it does. =) Adding a link to a pic of one, but not sure GW allows this site when linking (we shall see). Okay, it would not, because of spam or other. This site also has other pix of this plant that look more like how I believe it should look. Also, I don't find this site has correct labeling of their plants, so don't fully trust them. So, google image this name. Maybe I'll email you the name of site! Agree with socks...just leave the mother leaf there until it dries up, shrivels and it will detach itself from the new plant. In the meantime, it is supplying moisture and nutrients to the young plant.

It definitely has 50/50 perlite mixed with soil-most of the perlite is coated with a layer of peat from the mixing process. I suppose adding even more perlite in the future wouldn't hurt ;P

Also, what's that in the saucer? It needs to be free of anything to allow water to evaporate away

The "saucer" in the first pic is actually a coaster that I put there temporarily while I was searching for a proper saucer. All three pots now have saucers. I empty them out after each watering.

#2 looks like jade - Crassula ovata, that needs some help. I think I see some water in saucer below it? (I am talking about pic/plant #2, not the original one). Not sure, but if yes, that water needs to be disposed off. Mix that succulents are potted in needs to dry out between watering. Leaving excess water in the saucer will just keep soil too wet for too long. Especially if it is water-retaining.

Your soil should not stick to perlite so much - either there is too much peat in the soil you used, and/or something is too wet. Sorry for repeating myself - I said same in your other post. But it is important to make sure of good drainage = both soil and container. Use wooden stick-dowel with sharpened end-chopstick to check soil deep inside of pot to make sure it is dry enough before watering. Looking or checking just the surface could be misleading. In winter, many succulents need less water and especially if in cooler locations.

Your last plant needs to get rejuvenated to make sure of correct ID - there are few plants that look alike and could be more difficult to ID unless in better condition.
