Yep - both have messaging tab present. Check your profile page, upper right corner. (sometimes these details are not apparent if accessing via an app rather than on the computer.........)

I am not using the app just through the browser. It used to show it to the right side of the name on the profile, now there's nothing there. I wonder if it browser related. What browser are those of you using that can see it?

On my own I can look at threads messages tab by activity and see my messages but I don't see it showing I have it activated.

I did get a message. So it is sending.

I was wandering by this thread and saw your dilemma. It's not your browser Raven. Or at least I don't think it is. I use the latest version of Firefox and I can't see the messaging icon either. On my own page or anyone else's. As a matter of fact...I've noticed a few minor glitches with Houzz lately and I, personally, think it happens every time they have a sale. The last time I was affected to the point that I just gave up and left I was so frustrated. And it was during one of their sales. I could be grasping at straws but it's been just too coincidental.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see if y'all come up with an answer.

Firefox isn't monolithic between platforms, neither is Chrome. Browsers on phones and Chromebooks are derivatives of the Linux versions, sounds like there's an incompatibility coming from this site's coding that both are showing the same reaction to.

I just took a look with the current versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Opera I have on a Win10 PC. The message button on user home pages is visible in all three cases.

I'd say the problem is the browser. Your problem may resolve if you try using a PC.

Well...I've solved part of my problem. I'm a huge devotee of Ad Block. I use it often here to eliminate a lot of page clutter that interferes with my ability to read post, etc. With AMD ones depth perception is one of the things that goes haywire...along with a grayed out area of vision. When there is a lot of clutter on the screen...I have viewing issues...so I eliminate what I can...where I can.

In any case...I opened my profile...clicked AdBlock to see what was blocked on my profile page and proceeded to remove blocked settings on my profile page. Lo and behold...my personal picture returned and the ability to select a back page did the same. I don't have the option of messaging checked so it doesn't surprise me that it's missing from my profile page. I'm delighted I figured out how to get the other options working.

I know from past postings many moons ago that you liked Ad Block, too, Raven. Could it be part of your problem too?

Incidentally...I am on a PC. I don't own any other internet communication devices. It's not a browser problem...in my case. It's an app problem LOL

Raven, when I click your name on the computer, I see the message button. When using the iPhone, I do not see your message button.

Well the browser switch made no difference. I guess some may not know that I lost everything including every computer I owned. I made it to the rv with tablet and chromebook. Lost phone in the rescue in chest deep water so new phone. I don't have anything else to try it with. I think something is going on with the site. I don't have ad block on my new phone.

I just checked mine, and I don't have a Message showing. People have messaged me, and the option is still checked. Maybe we can't see it on our own page.

I just checked, and I see your Message button, Raven. On my page, where the message button is, it's the Edit Profile button.

Yes, add-ons, a sometime source of odd behavior. But my money is on these Linux versions

I use Ad-Block PLUS, which I think is different than the one cited and, as noted, doesn't seem to lead to any problems.

I see everything on your page now, too. Do you have a malware app on your new phone that might be blocking the view? I also see your message button.

Jas...I have the same view of my own page as you do but I don't have the message option checked anymore...and no one sends me messages. Or...if they are...I'm not getting them. LOL

Yes. My Ad Block version is, too, AdBlock Plus. I've been using HTTPS Everywhere...as well...but I don't think that was interfering. I tested HTTPS Everywhere and it was innocent. AdBlock Plus was definitely part...if not all...of my profile page problem.

Hmm, just checked each of you and I can see the Message option using my iPad and Safari, but can't see it on my android phone.

I think that's because I don't have the option checked under my profile, Mary. Everything else is back, though. I'm tickled to see my Fall photo back up. I guess I should go in and change the setting. If I do, I'll tell y'all if the message option appears again.
