Julia: No, that one being in a pot is not why its not opening good.Its been so rainy and cool,the nights lately in the mid 40's.I have some others with nice ruffles is not opening good either right now and they are in the ground And yes,Braveheart was only $ 2. on a sale. JAN; The package at wal mart had said they were NIGHT BEACON and I love purple,so I got it and planted them,and I know from every ones photos,it is NOT NIGHT BEACON,as I had hoped it would be.It looks alot like my LITTLE WART,but is darker,so can't be that either I guess.Oh well,,its A bloom of some kind. Hi. More info is always helpful! : ) The green parts that cover the bud are the sepals, and they are very useful in ID'ing a rose. Did you click on photos at the above link and look at the photos of Paul Neyron? (Some people miss that there are more photos.) Others to look at: Magna Charta - but I think the prickles are reddish on this rose Yolande d'Arragon - but the leaves on this plant are more pointed than your plant's leaves - I think Baronne Prevost - but this plant is more arching than your plant, I think... I keep coming back to the fact that your plant is grafted so it is quite likely not an old garden rose as it appears. Perhaps it is an early David Austin? I don't know when his roses first were sold in the US, but one of my favorite Austins is Cymbeline and it was introduced in 1983. John Clare looks sort of like it (maybe not enough petals?) but it is from 1994 which isn't close to your time frame. If you go to Help Me Find, you can do an advanced search and look at just Austin roses, or you can enter plant characteristics and see if you can get an ID. Have fun! (I'll keep thinking...!) Hi mermanmike: That would look great, however, I am thinking it best to restrict the scope of walnut countertops, as I am guessing they would patina rather more than stone, especially around the sinks. Thank you for the thought though--it would be a great solution from a design standpoint, just not sure I am ready to embrace that much square footage of wood countertops.

Hi Carrie! Our kitchen is *almost* finished, and when I was having a hard time choosing color, I went with Farrow * Ball, which has only 132 GORGEOUS options. We chose String #8, which seems similar to the middle of the samples, but a titch lighter. We love it! Of course the photos are wildly inaccurate (the color is much more like the bottom photo), but I love that overall, it reads as a lighter color, but has a depth that is quite rich and not washed-out/pale. Plenty of contrast with our BM Cloud White trim.
