I was taking kitchen scraps to the compost pile when I saw this grasshopper. I went back and got my camera. He had not moved. Most of the time when something like that happens, by the time I return to the spot, the insect is gone!

I love spiders! and hummers...and a cemetery can be beautiful. I also love fresh from the garden veggies too! But I am a bit overwhelmed with what daughter brought over yesterday. This includes 2 pints of canned pizza sauce. There is still a similar amount of veggies left in the fridge that she brought last week, including 2 pints of dill pickles.

For Bob, to go with his other story today. I had these two little visitors and I called animal control. They would not come out. They said to leave them alone and mom would be by to collect them. Well, the next day, when they were sitting under a car out in the street, no mom in sight, I invited them into a cat carrier and took them down to the bike trail which is a very heavily wooded area. They scampered off and I'm sure lived happily ever after. Certainly happier than if they had remained in my yard or out on the street.

All the roses are blooming like crazy here. I love the multi-colored Joseph's Coat.
