I love spiders! and hummers...and a cemetery can be beautiful. I also love fresh from the garden veggies too! But I am a bit overwhelmed with what daughter brought over yesterday. This includes 2 pints of canned pizza sauce. There is still a similar amount of veggies left in the fridge that she brought last week, including 2 pints of dill pickles.

I agree about percussion. My son enjoyed his drum set many years after HS, and I never minded listening to the practice as it really was "music to my ears." Band is a wonderful experience for these kids, I know you agree and I commend you for whatever your involvement is. My son's school traveled outside the country a couple times to be in competitions, once to the Calgary Stampede where it rained on them and their new uniforms. He sure had a lot of wonderful experiences and is still close friends with one of his fellow drummers.

In 2007 we visited New York City and visited the business that a cousin of my wife runs with her husband. The husband said he was in the office when it happened, and from on the balcony of the business (pictured here) you could see the World Trade Center through this gap between the buildings to the south of him.

Oh those sawfly larvae. They devour my yellow twig dogwood if I don't notice them in time. Two years ago I was aghast at all these white furry curled up "balls" under every leaf, not just one or two worms but many. I sprayed, last year nothing, this year I nearly forgot and happened to check the shrub and the leaves were nearly all gone! I sprayed and got rid of the worms just in time. I'm not sure if they will kill the shrub but when you see all the chewed and missing leaves one panics.
