Comments (10)Oh those sawfly larvae. They devour my yellow twig dogwood if I don't notice them in time. Two years ago I was aghast at all these white furry curled up "balls" under every leaf, not just one or two worms but many. I sprayed, last year nothing, this year I nearly forgot and happened to check the shrub and the leaves were nearly all gone! I sprayed and got rid of the worms just in time. Comments (16)This year I'm trying again to grow the Asclepia tuberosa (orange), bought from a local nursery. Seems I don't have much luck, perhaps it's where I try to grow them. I have a tall stemmed variety with the pink blooms in the orchard by the pergola, it has been happy there for quite a few years. The milkweed with the large pods that one sees growing along the roads in the ditches etc, is the type I have the most of. It grows by the edge of the yard by the field. Mostly the black and orange bugs cover the blooms, rarely do I see a Monarch! One day I hope to find cats....See More

What we do all week long (except Wednesdays) from mid-July until late-October. They're going to wear full uniforms tonight and wore the shoes/shakos (hat thingies!) for practice last night. I gotta tell you, if teenagers aren't gawky enough, those were some really sad looking kids last night. They didn't care, but I was glad it wasn't me wearing that get up :)

Susan (Bigack, I never get used to your real name). Those flowers look like they were drawn or painted as opposed to being real.
Socks, our cats love, love boxes. They love it when we bring groceries home in a box! I bought a pet bed for them, and ended up giving it to a friend who does cat fostering. Our 3 completely ignored it!
