Good Place to Purchase Citrus Trees in North Florida??
Comments (7)Would Just Fruits & Exotics be too far west? They're south of Tallahassee. Excellent selection and prices. Also, don't disregard Home Depot. Most stores up here got an excellent variety of large citrus trees this year with nice grafts, great prices, and that phenomenal 1-year guarantee. Comments (2)Joe, I planted 33 feet of Natchez and 33 feet of Ouachita 2 years ago and while they grew great and produced lots of fruit and still are producing now for about 2 months the fruit was very bland. I had a short row of Kiowa and those berries are VERY good but the plants are thorny....See MoreWhich is better, north Florida or south Florida?
Comments (27)johnb51: That's what I have heard: that SW side is more economical and less crowded but it probably depends on 'where' exactly lol. I would have to be zoned agriculture and away from the larger cities a little bit since I have chickens and loud roosters. They do make good fertilizer! :P I was also born in L.A. but later moved to Phx AZ. I love it in FL. The humidity took some getting used to compared to the Southwest. I've been out here 3 years now. marinfla: I like your mango story. Its funny how little things can change our lives. Your yard sounds like paradise. I can't wait until I can put my fruit trees in the ground and not worry about freezes so much. Bob1016: Sounds like you had quite an education in fruit trees since you were very young. What a nice environment to grow up in! I can imagine that you miss it and your grandfather quite a bit. njoasis: Sounds fun! I just bet they do! Can you make a good mojito? lol...See MoreRecommendations for central & north Florida granite fabricators
Comments (1)I too live near Orlando and am in the same boat. The fabricator I planned on using just went out of business. They were trying to get me to put a deposit on a couple of slabs just before they went under. Thankfully I didn't. Now I m looking for someone good. The whole slab shopping game is very tiring where they won't give you a price and only the fabricator can be given that information, etc. The old system may have worked that way but these days there needs to be more transparency. Just tell me what you will do the fabrication for and let me pick the slab based on the price. Too bad it doesn't work that way! I have to go to the yard, pick the slab, call the fabricator, get the price, then do it all over again for each one. Stupid!! Please let me know if you find a good one. Florida Joshua is good but he only does soapstone and is much more expensive than middle of the road granite or marble....See Morescottih_z8FL
