Central Ohio Fall 2012 Plant Swap is on! September 15th
Comments (7)Thanks to everyone who made it to the swap Saturday -- it was a great time! We had perfect weather, and wonderful food. Thanks to Denise and Jennifer and Linda, Kim and kin and the Terris and everyone else! We had some wonderful plants -- I picked up some great starts of spirea and lilac, enough lambs ears to cover a troublesome slope at work, and several 'new-to-me' plants. Thanks to Jennifer for the "Twist of Lime" hosta -- I know just where I'm going to tuck that into the garden! Whoever brought the beatifully patterned prayer plant -- it's already potted up and in the (indirect) light of the upstairs the bathroom. And the bag of perennial wildflower seeds are ready for a late night trip past some abandoned lots -- prettifying my neighborhood one handful at a time..... Best of all, it was a lovely afternoon sitting around the firepit (thanks, David!) chatting with fellow gardeners about plants, food, dates -- and everything else. Looking forward to the srping swap -- andthe next fall swap as well!...See Morenew: obf feb swap: love stories/valentines

Friday and Saturday night the ladies went to the movies and saw Endless Love and Monument Men. We shopped so much we had to go to the late late shows. Such fun we got back to the cabins at 12:30 each night. Funny but I'm still not tired from the lack of sleep I got. Night all, Shirley...See MoreNEW: obf december swap
Comments (125)Mellen, good to see you and Merry Christmas to everyone! We had a wonderful Christmas here. They say it may snow this evening and into tomorrow. If so, South Carolina will be excited and wild, too, with those who don't know how to drive in winter weather! LOL I didn't said anything before but I thought I should let you know. My older daughter is expecting triplets in the Spring! I doubt that I will be participating much here with OBF early in 2011. She lives all the way across the country and we have a baby shower to host there in January. I'm sure a few more trips will happen when the babies arrive - so I can see them and help out a bit. I think my 2011 will be off to a busy and expensive start - and oh, the hassle of airline security this days - what fun! April, your snow showed up before ours. It is snowing in upstate SC. Maybe ours will show up soon, but I don't think we will get much. I just love to watch the snowflakes fall though. It's rare here and how special to have some snow on Christmas! Comments (283)Hi Ruth, I just dug up your pomegranate tree, cured the yam and got your box together, could you send me your address so I can get it to you. Sorry about the delay, I got a community garden plot and had to work quickly to keep it. One of the master gardeners tried to take it back right after I got by putting vinegar on my seed trays, covering my plants with mulch, stealing my weeding tools, and then proceeding to plant his own stuff over my space. It was a hot mess, I haven't been online as I have really been wanting a community garden space, and I wasn't giving up without a fight. My tool had my name written on it so someone noted that and returned it to me, they noticed my plants were covered in mulch and called him in to talk about community garden etiquette. Hoping the garden is mine now and I can enjoy gardening in soil as much as containers. Anyway you box is ready; if you have any questions about how to grow anything I did enclose a few tips on some of the more unusual plants. Message me please...See Morelorabell_gw
