x-post: quackin' grass nursery--brooklyn, ct sale
Comments (0)Hey, all! Just giving you a heads-up that Quackin' Grass is having a sale...and they still have a HUGE amount of plants! The owner, Wayne, does a fab job and really knows his stuff! And also giving you a heads-up that the sale isn't a HUGE markdown up-front...however, you'll realize how awesome it is once you get there, as prices are SUPER-REASONABLE to begin with, and plants are ohmigosh big and hearty! Giving you the exclusions up front: SALES DON'T apply to Hosta, ferns, or other woodlanders such as trillium. The sale DOES include alpines, succulents, hardy cacti, sun/shade perennials, shrubs, vines. BUY 1 GRASS, get the 2nd free! BUY 2 of the same kind of vine or shrub, get the 3rd free! (not mix/match) BUY 4 perennials (mix/match), get the 5th free! Call Wayne, 860-779-1732 or visit the website www.quackingrassnursery.com...See Morereview of quackin' grass nursery--brooklyn, ct

Woody plants were of my special interest and I see some cultivars that I wouldn't mind to drive there to get. How big their conifers if not specificaly mentioned 3G, specimen etc? Are they mostly 1G one year old grafts? BTW, azaela Koromo Shikibu is not flashy, but a truly interesting one-of-a kind plant. Could be overpowered if planted among same-time blooming azaleas/rhododendrons, but try to position it where nothing will bloom around it at the time of its bloom and it stand out. Mine blooms during the last week of May. It has a groundhuging habit, so lower branches could be easily groundlayered, if needed.
