Yes, that was what I meant, although cliff and joann's idea is equally good, assuming the couch will fit into the bay window. I think the largest piece of furniture always looks best when it's facing the TV, so either way would work. However, having the door that close to the couch may not be a good look. I would get another chair or love seat to complete the seating area and a smaller coffee table with a glass top and metal legs to maximize the spaciousness of the room. Of course you'll also need smaller tables with lamps by some of the seating to complete the look. Do you have wall to wall carpeting? If not, then a beautiful area rug would give a lot of color and interest to this room.

Definitely some sort of shade on the windows. But not inside mount. The windows are set fairly low on the wall, so to lengthen the wall, I'd mount the shades much higher up, and maybe use one shade for every two windows. Master bedroom with a total of 7 windows, including a bay window area, which makes it a bit tricky. We live in Seattle where sun rises at 5am in the summer, so blackout is a must. In previous house, we had automated cellular motorized blackout shades which worked well. We valued the automatic nature, because otherwise we probably would have lived with blinds permanently down because we don't take the time to open them every morning. but automated shades for each window feels too expensive and not very practical with 7 windows. I am wondering if floor to ceiling blackout curtains on a ceiling track (ideally motorized and automated) would work well for the long wall. This would mean cutting out the bay window area w the curtains. 1 downside is it would be inconvenient because we will eventually put a loveseat there to watch TV sometimes. How would you do window treatments in this room to achieve automated blackout light control? Cellular shades vs curtains? Any other option we should consider?
