And you don't sound like a hoarder, just an avid collector.) Bleigh...spray the heck out of that huge cone with Pine Sol. I wouldn't let something like a bit 'Tzu pee slow me down from rescuing it. LOL. Like you, I'd give anything to collect antique furniture. Things like small tables, sideboards, etc. I love it all. Slinkey, you have a lot of interesting collections! I'd love to visit and see them. I like most anything old and vintage. (except Me. LOL) Oak, I have just a couple of Jim Shore's Heartwood Creek pieces. Two rabbits I LOVE, one of the reindeer, the horse, and a birthstone angel. The patchwork designs on his stuff is really neat. WOW, LynneNC, your porcelain doll collection sounds like something special. I see them in antique places and always stop to admire their faces and dresses. Some are so life-like and gorgeous. MaryLee, I'm surprised I didn't get into collecting police things. I just have a few special pieces. If either of my sons had been interested, I'd probably have started a collection in hopes of passing it on to them. Hi and welcome Antique Silver, are you new to us or been a lurker? Its always nice to meet someone who shares our love of Holidays, dishes, and whatever. Had to laugh at Kathleen, and you, saying "dust". I can definitely relate to that. Living in Phoenix, surrounded by desert, sure makes those dust bunnies multiply. LOL. I use to tell a friend that I couldn't get rid of the dust bunnies, so I named them. Harry and Ethel...and the kids. Janet, you are so lucky your DD "wants it all". That is something that worries me with all my stuff. My DD and DDIL would probably want most of my Xmas things, but that's all. I'm afraid they will throw gigantic yard sale with my things. sigh. I keep reminding my DD that some of the horse, rabbit, and dog things are very valuable. (I am trying to set up an album with pictures and info about this stuff, and also who might help them sell it.) None of my family has a clue what is valuable and what isn't. Last year I decided to pare down my dog (Whippet-Greyhound) things. I had around 300 statues, plus art and jewelry. I figured it would be smart to let pieces that I could part with go to other dog folks now. I wanted to cut my collection in half. Didn't quite make that number, but did sell a lot to friends, and on eBay. I am currently offering more for sale this month. I have well over 100 rabbits, amd some I don't really love any more that I should let go. I wish I'd been a LOT more selective when buying them all these years. But its hard for me to pass up bunnies. LOL. My Trail of Painted Pony figurines is around 125, and I have about a dozen I'm ready to sell. I very rarely buy any more of the Ponies or the dog pieces. It has to be very special to add to my collection. Guess I FINALLY reached the point of "enough"! LOL. I am not surprised a lot of us are Christmas Collectors. I realized a year or so ago, that I had so many different Christmas collections going, it was easier to lump them all under one heading. I "collect Christmas". LOL. Those of you trying to deny you 'actually collect'...HA! You can't fool me. And if the old saying about THREE or more being a collection....well we are all in trouble!! LOL. Party, it would be neat if we did exchanges or trades here. I think its so much fun to share things, which is why I love sending little gifts when I can. Over on Garden Junk we do a Secret Santa thing, where one person collects all the names and addresses then pairs them up. Everyone fills one of those Priority boxes you can ship flat rate for $15 and sends to the name drawn for them. The stuff is supposed to be things you have already to pass on, and not spend money on gifts. You'd be amazed at what neat things, and how MUCH stuff, can fill one of those boxes. We've had a ball doing that for several years. One summer we did a gift thing too. I'd love a Secret Santa started here if enough were interested in signing up. This is an old post, but I have this same washer and we have figured out how to run loads that need more water and straight hot water. It's a little bit of work, but for the size of the tub and other features of this washer that we like, we think it's worth it. Here are the steps we go thru for towels (or anything we think needs more water and hot water straight from the tap): 1) Place towels in tub. Do not add soap or bleach. 2) Turn to towel setting, cold water and let fill up just enough until towels are soaked. 3) Put on Spin only and wait until water drains out, then stop it. Don't let it spin the towels dry - just enough for water to stop pumping out of drain and where you don't hear any water still sloshing in or under the tub. 4) Turn off the machine and wait 30 seconds. While waiting, add soap and bleach if desired. 5) Turn on machine, set to Sanitary. Push Start. Since the towels are now wet, they are heavier, so the machine will fill it with more straight hot water. Once the level of water is reached and the machine starts agitating, wait about 5 minutes. 6) Pause machine, change cycle to Towels, Hot water and whatever other settings you want. Push start. The water level will be maintained and the wash will be hot. Sometimes, if it isn't a lot of towels, once you switch it over to towels, it may add more cold water. I haven't had it do this if I let the sanitary wash for at least 5 minutes before changing the cycle. I do large loads though, so there really isn't much room to add more water anyway. We only have to mess it with when we want tap hot water. I have never washed an entire load on sanitary where it heats up the water. Mainly because our hot water is hot enough and I also don't want to wait 2+ hours. Hope this helps the OP or anyone else that has this washer. We have been very happy with our so far. My MIL has the SQ, but says it agitates too fast for her delicates. Other than that, she loves it.

Just installed new DLG7188WM today! My 6 year old 'Estate' dryer was supposed to have a 'shelf life' of 10-12 before repair or death...5.5 years into it - gas coil problems. Called repair ($80 just to find my address...of course would be credited to repair IF we decide his dx is correct and use him) and without even taking machine apart said, "Yup, gas coil blew. Gonna need a replacement." $175 (plus the 4 twenties he already pocketed) was the verdict. Machine cost us $500 - delivered, installed & old one hauled! A major repair at least 5 years sooner than originally rated seemed like throwing good money after bad. Tons of research later...we stumbled upon NINOSTRADING.COM (hope that doesn't make them raise their prices, may need a washer soon!) where they specialize in factory direct 'Dings & Dents.' Paid $340 for $1,200 dryer + $170 for cross country shipping. Husband installed in under one hour. $520 for top rated and full featured, 1-year factory warranteed, brand new machine? Easy choice. So far, so good...very thankful for this site and these threads to share tips. Still have old washer, so I will make sure to use HIGH SPIN to remove as much water possible before using new LG dryer. CAVEAT EMPTOR: This is NO FRILLS, AS-IS, and as available type of site. Excellent, courteous and prompt - but cannot be picky about appearance or minor 'fixes' you must make. Order by 'pallet number' and they state general appearance. 72 hour return. Not for the weak (or picky) hearted...but who can't use a little extra mortgage cash these days?!

We've been very pleased with the latex/encased coil springs mattresses we bought last October. Amorebeds.com is a Chicago company that free-ships everywhere. Our pair of extra-long twins -- used as a king -- cost just over $1K total. Each twin weighs 70b lbs. They rest on an existing pair of 6" tall box 'springs' (no real springs and none required). The mattresses are 12" tall. We chose 'firm', knowing we could order a king 'topper'. We didn't need one. You can order a split-firmness mattress if you want. We had 'tried on' pure latex mattresses (Nest) but missed springs, and I thought they were very expensive. The Amore mattresses arrived very nicely finished and have held up well -- slight indentations from our bodies, nothing like the hammocks(!) that other much more expensive mattresses developed within a month or two. We're 106 and 175 lbs. I can recommend Amore.
