Flooring Design Dilemma

Matching floor colour with brown window frames

Hello all,

I bought an apartment ( currently underconstruction) and it comes by default with dark brown window frames. I cannot change them to white since they told me that is the project and that all apartments in the building gets the same color on the doors and windows.

What colour can I match the floor ? I want a brighter colour since the apartment size is small.

Are they brown stained wood? Brown metal? Do you have pictures?

What are your floor choices?

Pick the floor you want, and after you close, paint the interior doors, and any window casings, if casings are what you mean.

Contact Milgard Customer Service directly. Many manufacturers have already matched their windows to certain paint manufacturers. You dealer may not know, but CS at Milgard may have the info you need.

I’m following this post because I have the same issue with my living room — dark brown couch and very dark floors — brown overkill! Can I ask for more specific advice, if possible? Should my rug be mostly ivory, with tan accents? Or will the tan color bring in more “brown?” Should I paint the brown wooden top on my fireplace white to eliminate some of the brown in the room? Having trouble visualizing that color combination. Have you tried any of the paint/color visualizing tools? There are free tools that you can select from out there from the different paint suppliers.

Nope, just leave it be. A buyer is going to see the old windows. Nothing you can do to avoid it. Were I buying your house I would replace all the windows, even your new ones, because of the color.

I went to see the neighbor building by the same construction company and they put black window frames (I don't know what casings are, I`m not a native English speaker) so I guess I misunderstood the sales guy, or he didn't really know.

I am 100% they will put the same style since the 2 buildings will be connected in the end:

So what do you think about the floor ? :) Is a light gray good enough ?

the black is nice. what does it look like on the inside?? casing is the framing that goes around the window opening (usually on the inside)
the wood frame around the glass is casing. here, it's all black and looks great.
