Paint Color Help! Repose Gray and Edgecomb Gray??

We just moved into our house and will be painting the entry, living room, and hallways. We have narrowed it down to Repose Gray or Edgecomb Gray. Our house is a small ranch style home with 8ft ceilings. We are going to be putting in crown molding and new window trim along with canned lights. The entry way and living room also receive a ton of natural light.

Does anyone have experience (good and/or bad) with these colors? Also, we are looking for trim and ceiling color recommendations that would compliment either color nicely.

I'm currently doing my whole house in Edgecomb gray. I can't remember what Repose Gray looks like, but EG has lots of warmth/beige in it so it's not too cool. I liked that and thought it would go nicely with a light tan/white couch. I was inspired by Young House Love blog, which did much of their house in that. But of course, color translates different in different homes/lights.

What color are the kitchen cabinets? I'm wondering because mine are a creamy beige-ish but ultimately my cabinets appear a different color depending on the colors surrounding it. If there is burgundy, they appear light pink. I love gray, did my top half of dining room in dark gray. I am not afraid of paint and would be willing to paint one whole wall to decide if I could live with it.

Here are a few pictures I’d like to paint. One is a 2 story wall above/around my front door. The other is a small wall under my stairs that you first see when entering my front door. And the last is my dining room. My whole house was beige & these 3 areas were/are a darker beige. I painted all the the walls that were previously beige using Edgecomb Gray. I now want to paint the walls that are still a dark beige to a dark gray. I get pretty good light & as you can see, I have a lot of warm woodwork.

What colors are in the rest of your home? Why did your Kitchen Designer suggest such a wimpy blue mix instead of choosing something with more oomph? Since you ”love color”, why aren’t you picking a real color? Gray is going away, so I’m surprised she’d suggest it at all. I'm even more surprised that she’d suggest something like that to someone who loves color.
