Thanks Pal! I think the tiles are so similar that bordering wont be noticeable. We might mix them for more variation, but I think each of the two colors will have variation. We also thought about asking for the colors in matte, but after viewing other fireclay matte tiles online I dont think I will. The rep said they will lose some of their variation if matte. I think that is a great idea for the lighting. There will be skylights over the shower and wc also, so I dont know lighting will be necessary during the day. Also, I think I ma not going to do a mirror over the vanity by the wc. I will have the contractor place a support beam under the ceiling in case I want to add one later. There is another vanity that will have a mirror across from the tub. No mirror:

Frank Lloyd Wright lived in the 20th c. and this house owes more to him that the atomic-plastic aerospace era most people associate with MCM, and therefore want to paint everything rocket ship gray and kool-aid lime plastic unless they are looking at a colonial. You are right not to want to paint the brick. An unpainted wood front door with glass would be optimal and ditto if you can afford natural unpainted wood garage doors that might be handsome, otherwise go with weathered grays. It is really quite impossible to offer suggestions about the rest of the trim with the awning up there, and the overgrown hedges under the front window. The sharply trimmed hedges are appropriate to the house but they need to be trimmed way back. Do that first and then see where you’re at.

I have some 1950s Baker and Danish Modern furnishings that would be perfect. Maybe I should have gotten my bid in! It’s a beautiful, elegant house. As an aside, I had to google Ruth Boynton. Born in 1896 and becamse a physician inspired by their family physician was a woman, who cared for Ruth’s brothers and sister during their final illnesses. Pretty trailblazing.

It's a death trap! I was going to post on this house last week after I got back from the open house. Trust me, you would not want to live in it. Angles for the sake of angles. It's Eichler on steriods. Actually, the typical Eichlers are very boxy and square. I grew up in Palo Alto, ground zero for Eichlers. What makes it a death trap you ask? Walking down the hallway there are shelves protruding in the walkway at just the right height to take your eye out. Fireplace hearth sticks out waiting to trip you, and while it won't kill you, every shower is a triangle. A small triangle, like maybe 36" each side. The walls in the bedrooms are all closets or sliding glass doors, so no where to put a dresser. The bathrooms are tiny and dark with no windows, but they did have skylights in the showers. Here is a cool skylight above the LR fireplace. I did love the story of the current owners. But I would not want to be stoned in that house, the bedroom wing is a bit of a maze with two jack and jill bathrooms. Really, the only furniture you would need, or would even fit in the house are beds and a dining room table, everything else is built in. The photos make the house look in better shape than it is. The price is pretty much land value and I would not be surprised if it's either demolished or a major rebuild. New homes on the street (which backs up to a busy road) are 10M+. I really hope someone restores it, but that floor plan...... ouch.
