Doorknobs: Oil rubbed bronze on one side & brushed nickel other?
Comments (2)You sound just like me (2 years ago). My whole house is ORB. Master bathroom lights and plumbing fixtures are brushed nickel. DH didn't like the idea of ORB on the outside of the bathroom door and brushed nickel on the inside. So I have mixed metals in my bathroom. I asked here and in the decorating forum plus had seen tv shows with mixed metals. Most everyone thought it was fine to mix them. In my bathroom: door, closets and (dark stained) vanity have orb. Light fixtures and plumbing fixtures and tp ring, train rack are brushed nickel. I'm good with it :) Monica...See MoreDoorknobs: Oil rubbed bronze on one side & brushed nickel other?
Comments (2)We have 50/50 knobs in our bathrooms. Not sure it makes a difference, but it was the same price. I think it is personal preference, and I doubt that it will go out of style (or at least not any faster than brushed nickel)....See MoreOil-rubbed bronze or brushed nickel hardware?
Comments (21)I selected ORB for my kitchen, and as it turned out I got a cheapy orb for the handles and they do not show ANY kind of wear at all. I have had them in place for about 2 years(or is it 3?( and I am still enjoying them. I should stress that we are not gentle people and we do not baby things in the house:)so that is saying that it is most durable. I like the warmth of the look. I agree that the hardware is relatively inexpensive to replace - but I also don't see them looking dated anytime too soon. Things do definitely go in cycles as we have all noted that brass is kind of coming back in. I wholeheartedly encourage you to get what you like, and you will really enjoy it....See MoreBrushed nickel or oil rubbed bronze?
Comments (6)Patricia, thank you for the feedback. If I could ask one more question. First, I said our cabinets are going to be Agreeable gray, but they are SW Repose Gray. I am not sure I am liking the Repose and Anew grays together. We will have a ton of natural light in our house, so that may make the colors look totally different once installed. Would appreciate your opinion. Thanks for your time. ( I didn't know making all these choices would be so hard.)...See Morebeachem
