Did I kill my endless summer hydrangea?

About a month ago I purchased Espoma organic soil acidifier. I must've gotten the instructions for fertilizing something else mixed up with it in my head and ended up sprinkling like a cup's worth all around to the drip line when I was supposed to give it a tbsp near the roots. Not long after that I noticed each flower head was turning green underneath and starting to brown out on top and flopping over. I put it to the fact that we've had tons of rain and hoping it wasn't getting root rot. Now I think I've actually poisoned it. IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO REVERSE THE PROCESS AND SAVE IT? If I leave it alone is there a good chance it will come back nice next year? I've always had a black thumb but nursed this like a baby and so proud of how it was growing. Thanks in advance.
