Growing a pine seedling

Hi there,

I found a pine seedling growing in my yard, under the fence in an unfortunate spot. It's about two inches high, and if it had continued to grow it would have had issues passing the fence. I would like it to keep growing, so that I can transplant it into my front yard when it's big enough - and so I carefully dug it up and planted it in a large pot. For now it's still outside - but my main question is - how do I keep it alive and help it to grow? Should I keep it in the pot, and put it in a shaded area? Or should I plant it in a better location, in mother earth, where it can grow, that is shaded? Would I have better luck bringing it inside? I would really like this tiny seedling to keep growing -

Thanks in advance!
