What white interior trim color for my white vinyl windows++
Comments (4)Did you mean BM white dove?? I am not sure I know the color white down, but if it IS White Dove. I think the difference will be insignificant if you use it but will have a warmer look depending on the lighting. I have White dove everywhere and my kitchen cabinets, in fact, are a stark white. I would never try to match the white, IMO I would always go a bit creamier or softer. I tell people that white dove is like a white with the 'bite' taken out of it and does not look yellow to me at all, just soft. In my darkest rooms, however, it does look a little more to the putty gray side in certain lights, nonetheless, still a white.Good luck...See MoreVinyl Windows-different colors on each side
Comments (35)@ Windowdog--I do think the man who came & measured our windows knew what he was talking about. He did tend to want to tell me what I should buy/order. In fact he got back to us today after I called him to see how the quote was coming & he had plugged in things we hadn't discussed when he made the quote. Unfortunately my husband couldn't be here when he came, but they have talked on the phone & we are going in to his office to talk to him. He also told me the grids could only be ordered in 4 standard colors inside. The other company told me 6 colors & then they told me special order could be any of their colors. He also told me that the grids that are removable & on the outside of the glass are set inside a frame & the frame just pops out. The other guy had ones to show us & you had to squeeze each grid to get it to come out. I really am beginning to wonder if any Marvin window dealers know their product....See MoreFlip flopper- should I or should I not paint w/ new color? Can't decide
Comments (49)Yknow, IMHO, I wish we all could drop the "D" word from our vocabulary. If we love it , if its well made, if its functional - then a place can be found for it, period. In other words - your china cab is just fine, and it does look good on the side rather than viewed head on. That said of course we like our rooms freshened up now and then - but I think you can jazz it up in other ways incl choosing a new color ILOVE greens/browns/tans, but the pea soup color Im kind of tired of. (or so it looks on my monitor anyway, which has been known to be wrong.) Definitely think about going deeper richer. Dont know if Penny's or Anglo's deep dark colors are good for you but it gives you an idea at least of what deeper/richer could do for you. If all else fails maybe you could just take the living room color and just go a few steps darker/more intense with it. Let the DR be cozy and intimate complete w/ a big china cabinet - why not? The DR should relate well to the LR, and that would be one way of doing it. Minor quibble - I would think about that wall space where the china cab was - is there a third pic that could fit in there? With cabinet moved, that wall becomes very significant. Not liking just the two pics , needs to be 3 I think..... Or some other wall decor or arrangement .... minor thing, so perhaps just wait for the inspiration or right thing to come along....See MoreCan’t commit to the sheet vinyl floor I picked out
Comments (9)Oh no, I have a sample. Like a normal 20”x20” (or whatever the size) sample of the LVT. I was hoping to see it somehow on the roll. The current color is weird. I posted about it on here a few months ago. I thought it was a pickled stain, but someone pointed out that it’s actually paint. I have no idea what they did to paint the cabinets like that. I kind of like them, but they are very worn. The kitchen was renovated and expanded in the late 90’s or early 00’s by the former owner. It’s one color throughout. I think the lighting is okay. There are 3 skylights, recessed lighting and some fluorescent tube lighting above the trey ceiling. I like all the pics that were posted of the cream kitchens. I think my floor is going to be the only significant expense from this. In a few years I’ll have 3 teenagers. I think there’s a short window right now when I can put money into the house before I’m dealing with the extra expenses that teenagers bring. So wood floors might have to wait until I retire!...See MoreRelated Professionals
