6' Whirlpool Tubs - any recommendations or tips?
Comments (3)Hi, We're in the early stages of a master bath remodel and my tub was the first thing I chose since so many of my room's measurements would depend on the size of the tub deck. After doing some internet research, I found that it was really helpful to go to some bath/plumbing showrooms to see as many in person as possible and literally climb in them to get a sense of whether they "fit". Seeing some of the manufacturers' tubs filled with water was a huge help because not all whirlpool tubs move the water in the same way. I decided that I wanted a whirlpool/air bath combo and found that MTI was a good choice for us because, with MTI, once you choose the tub model and size, you can customize the features. (We went for the whirlpool, air bath, aromatherapy but skipped the lights!!!) I chose a Harmony (6') because I loved that each end was the same, right down to the armrests, so that I could face either way (or two people could enjoy an equal experience!) MTI's customer service line was very helpful and answered many questions. When I called my local MTI dealers to get prices, I was surprised at the range and it was obvious that a few of them were merely order-takers and didn't really have product knowledge. I found a great price at tubzlady.com and, when I called several times with questions, Korin could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. I never expected to order a tub over the internet but I did! The whole process went very smoothly and it arrived in great condition on the back of a semi... shipped from the factory in Georgia with no shipping fees! It looks great sitting in my garage and I can't wait to actually get to use it! Good luck with your project and let us know what you decide. Comments (24)Livinggreen, I think freestanding vs drop in is mostly a style preference, thought you would have more cost to box one in. IN re hot tubs vs jetted tubs. Yes, I think having a hot tub is one reason I don't feel the need for a jetted bathtub. Of course, if the hot tub is outside and you live in a cold climate, you may not have the hot tub run all year. In our last house the hot tub and the pool shared the same heating system, so when we closed the pool Oct-Apr, no hot tub. Now our hottub and pool are indoors....See MoreHELIXBATH freestanding tub - any experience?
Comments (5)We just received our tub. The packaging was unbelievable, in a crate and really wrapped well. It looks fantastic, however because we are still in heavy renovation mode, it is still partially wrapped. It does look great from what we can see. I will update when unwrapped. The faucet by helixbath (kaiteur) may have misspelled, is great, heavy, high shine Chrome, and it looks sleek, modern and expensive. This was the agora 59" acrylic one piece tub with free faucet. We had to pay more because we are in Canada, but this is a great deal....See MoreOceania or Neptune - Freestanding Tub Opinions
