Is it reasonable to buy this for college packing, or am I being silly?

I am sick of being BIG!
Comments (19)Sounds like your exercise is good, so you may need to concentrate on your nutrition. This website may be helpful: http://www.pueblo.gsa.gov/cic_text/food/food-pyramid/main.htm I found the best weight loss is to eat only fruits and grains for breakfast/lunch (eat nothing else!) If I stayed hungry, I simply ate another banana, apple, etc until I didn't feel like eating ANYTHING else. Then I ate whatever I wanted for dinner. It took about a week+ to get used to it, but then my body felt MORE satisfied then when I was pigging out on fast food for breakfast/lunch. This in turn helped me exercise, for some reason it jacked up my energy bigtime (almost like a caffeine rush without the fall) and also reduced what I ate for dinner (which was usually pretty fatty). If you stay with this plan, you will need to buy more clothes because the fatty areas of your body will disappear very quickly! Make sure you eat proteins and take vitamin/mineral suppliments if you don't eat alot of vegi's and drink lots of water - no soda (even diet). Stay away from weight loss pills!! Go naturally!! 5 million years of evolution can't be wrong... :)...See MoreAm I being a total cheapskate, or will this work?
Comments (29)I have to agree with the inspector here (are you doing your kitchen under code with proper permits? Because if so, his advice will matter...they don't pass burried wires). I added two runs for future lighting on our deck when the walls were ripped out and we finished them in the box and capped them off under a blank plate for future use. There is no fire danger this way, which is a big deal. Some code issues are umm silly (don't read that mr. inspector LOL) like the requirements to have UL stickers on all lighting (they didn't exist on antique lights) but free wires running around the walls...that's one I feel quite comfortable conforming with. I love my under cabinet lighting. I suppose it depends on the kitchen layout and your other lighting options, but if it were me, I'd do the plug in lighting verses the battery stuff. I've used those, and they're ok, but not that great. I have them in our master closet and they do work well there (set to turn on when the door opens) but for any longer than a few mins, they're useless IMO. I put battery ones in my mom's house and they really make a difference for her functionality....See MoreHope I am not being too forward i.e. age? getting a pension?
Comments (64)Its 1 :25 am and I'm with the night owls. I was laid off at 66 and was dispirited. Looked for jobs, not much luck. So I accepted that unemployment was actually early retirement. Less than a year later a friend called about an opening in her agency in my field. It is a great fit: about 10-15 hours a week. I only go into the office (which is 20 minutes away) 1 x 2weeks, nearly everything can be communicated and documented by secure email and text. I miss the chatting life of more collegial time in an office, but I treasure setting my own schedule. As long as my patients get seen on time and my documentation and time sheets are on time no one 'bothers' me. I'm still contributing to society and (modestly) to family income. I have lots of time and flexibility for those ever increasing doctors' and physical therapy appointments. Gotta keep the mojo working if I want to work. My house is still a mess because neither dh nor I are neatniks and actually don't care a lot about "everything in its place". I mean, it would be nice, but it takes so much valuable time! Rouge, your days and nights will take on a shape of their own. You can nudge things however you want. Eventually a routine might emerge. My thoughts are: make new friends, keep up with old ones and participate in some sort of group activity: exercise class, bridge, book group, civic organizations. For me, they are a welcome change from being at home. I came across the seeds you sent months ago. Still in their little envelope, waiting for spring, like me.Marie...See MoreHelp! Am I being overcharged for trees???
Comments (35)A 45-gallon live oak is about $500 and that is the size we recommend in our Florida HOA. A 6" caliper is a ridiculous request on the part of your HOA. Takes tons of water to establish that tree which will come wrapped in burlap and has a better chance of failing after being planted. This tree will easily spread to 40 ft. across and should not be planted near any foundation, driveway or street because the roots can be a problem. I would not install a Magnolia in my yard. We had a few around here and they went down in the last hurricane. Here's something landscapers don't request very often but they grow like crazy and can tolerate the hurricanes Royal Poinciana in Red or Yellow. They bloom for months. Honestly, the easiest tree and best-priced trees are Sabal Palms native to Florida. You can order them by the flatbed truckload for about $70 apiece with 10ft of trunk (not installed) Don't order any palms that need to be trimmed like Queens. There are plenty of self-pruning palm trees to select from....See MoreRita / Bring Back Sophie 4 Real
