Smallest master bath ever - tile???

We have the smallest master bathroom ever - we are redoing. We want the tile to carry through the shower (no pan) and we want the clear glass frameless doors. We are stuck on the tile. We want the hexagon floor tile and subway - but what finish? Should we do all marble (which may close it in) or should we do marble on the floor and white subway (which will emphasize the floor) or should we opt for the white marble (which will lighten the space). I posted indpiration tile at the bottom! Ps The room has no windows!

I did large scale horizontal tile in my similar room. This is how it normally looks--not staged. ;) It's not actually yellow--those are the warm-white bulbs. The tile looks like marble but because I don't hate myself, it's porcelain.

The room is justtt over 8' wide (not even an inch more, but enough to offset the tile) and is 5.5' wide. There is a bump out for the door to clear the toilet that fits like a puzzle into the hall bathroom. The vanity is 36" with 4 working drawers and a door.

Underfloor heat not hooked up yet and over toilet cab doesn't have fillers.

Behind the door cabinet has even more storage and husband's current bathroom reading.

Hydronic towel heater also not installed. :P. Door not painted. Hand towel bar missing. 98% done.

We spend much time in NYC and there are many very small bathrooms that look great! You have chosen great inspiration options and there is no right or wrong direction. We always recommend that you go with what "feels" best to you. Personally we probably prefer the small marble hex mosaics on the floor and the subway tile on the wall. Whatever you choose will be great!

We just finished a remodel of our teeny master and used marble. I think the hex tile would be beautiful! I opted against the glass frameless door because I didn't think I'd keep it clean!

Oh I didn't think about cleaning the carrara... is it really that difficult? Ugh... I love the hex border idea. I thought about an area rug, but I'm nervous about getting the spacing wrong without the tub in place. Or having real rugs overlap with the tile one. I'm also nervous about putting them around the tub in case the tub goes in place and they are off centered or something. I have OCD fears ;) Thank you for showing me photos of your lovely bathroom shanghaimom! Any suggestions for a backspash? I'm thinking about a blue-ish wall color too. This bathroom is so pretty:

To answer questions, I was able to add more pictures. Here is where the chandelier will hang. It is centered in the room. This is looking into the bath from center entry between closets on left and right. The room is roughly 20ft left to right, with shower and my vanity at opposite ends, and 12 ft from the entry to the back wall alcove where the tub will sit. The blue tape is stuck to the mount where the light will hang, and is 36" long just to see proportions. My husband standing under it is still a few feet from his head (he is 6'3"). Ceilings are all sots of height as you can tell but roughly 10-12' max. The chandelier above is L29w29xH32.5. Or they have a smaller one 25x25x28. Which size?? Oh and I don't have pic of the vanity as they are covered. But the suggested pics above of dark vanities is spot on color. My larger vanity is to the right here buried under the ladder etc.! STOP right now no wood look tile please It is already dated and honestly it never looked good in anyhwere where you would not use real wood so for sure not the shower walls. I like 12 x24 porcelain tile in bathrooms and I like the floor and the shower walls the same the tile can have a marble look or be very plain and you add your accents with things that can be changed often The simpler and fewer the prmanent things are the longer you will love the space . I use the same color tile for the shower floor but in a much smaller tile .

I have two very small bathrooms (one is 4'x 6'8"), and in one I used 2" square matte porcelain mosaic over the whole thing in one color, and in the other I used white 2" square matte porcelain mosaic on the walls and grey 2" hex porcelain mosaic on the floors and in that bathroom did white matching grout on the walls and grey matching grout on the floors.

I would do something that runs horizontal on the floor to make the room look wider and better-proportioned. The white subway looks great on the shower I think.

I am a stubborn woman. The tub is 5'6". The bathroom is actually 5"5.75". I ran the PEX with a friend/hourly guy. Then the plumbers hooked it up and roughed it in. (I actually had to redo part, but never mind!!!) Then I set the tub. Theoretically, it should be easy because it comes on these no vibration pads and it literally just sits on the floor. But I didn't figure for plumbing sticking out of a wall in a room smaller than it was after getting it through a small door and into an ALCOVE!!!! I cried before I succeeded, I'm not ashamed to say. I was so scared of cracking it.

i do glass because my husband is incapable of closing a curtain properly and has caused much damage because of that. These swinging doors with a fixed panel and a rain shower head are the absolute best for that. He can't point the shower head out of the tub area (another favorite trick of his) or leave a sliding/swinging door partly open.

I love the tile floor in your first inspirational picture! You could recreate that bath without a window. You might need a sliding or a stationary shower door but it would look great
