master bath lights and mirrors with tile- do I need to warm it up?

I am down to finishes thankfully in our MB remodel and need help with mirrors and chandelier and lights to pull it together!

What I have picked: The glass accent tile pic is below, it will be on a 1/2 wall above the white MTI resin matte tub. The floor tile will be matte porcelain dolomite look (almost all white) tile. The shower will be polished of the same product. The vanities are dark stained wood. Counter tops are torquay, with white sinks. Sink and cabinet hardware are brushed nickel.

My concerns are how integrate dark wood vanities with all the white tile. I also want to pull some of the 'warmth' from the glass accent tile to the rest of the room. And I wonder about mixing metals in the lighting?

Ideas???:

Do I use a dark wood mirror to balance the vanities dark color? And my vanity is 65" and his is 48" so can I use the same sized mirror on both or do I need to go with full wall sized mirrors and custom frame them?
What do you think of a chandelier? I want some bling but not sure this glass accent tile is dressy enough for crystal. Also this will hang in your sight line as you enter the room, and behind it visually is the tub and the accent wall of tile so....Do I want something airy and not as eye catching?
Should the chandelier be bronze to pull the dark wood to the center of the room, or should I do like a "winter gold" or some shade of gold to pull in the creamy warm glass tile? Or do I just stick with nickel and choose something with a champagne shade?

What do you think of something like this? Too "dressy"?

The chandelier will cast shadows, by design. and also some of the light will be fractured by the crystals. It will be lots of light for the space, but you need a good set of functioning lights in here as well.

Shades in bathrooms are kind of a problem they suck up any moister and can get warped or stained. That tile can for sure go with crystal.

How tall are the ceilings?

How big is the room?

Is that picture where it will hang?

Can you post a floor plan of the space, and possible the wood cabinet?

Always remember, MB is your space, very few other people will ever use or see it. This means do what you love, go for the bling.

I don't like chandeliers in bathrooms, so no advice on that one.

But I imagine your dark vanities will look great in a white bathroom, add mirrors with a slim dark edge.

Your ceilings look really high, you could paint them either a really dark chocolate or the gray from the accent tile.

Can't say much about the mirror size/one large, as I don't know the layout of your bathroom.

We did the same as Nighttowln. Wanted a quick sale during the market crash. But, I did a modified remodel of two baths. Our master, I removed all brass and pink sink/toilet with white. I shopped around and found a high end vanity floor model with some minor chips. They threw in the sink and I had my handyman put it in. Ran around granite yards and found a piece of white marble which was left over from a job and put that on top. Removed the shower doors and did pay full price for new seemless shower doors. Put in new lights (Target) over the sink. The bathroom had pink tile half way up the wall. We put white beadboard over it with chair rail. New shower fauctes (home depot). We left the pink tile on the floors. Bath looked fantastic. No one noticed anything and saved us a bunch of money. Did the same with a basement bathroom but did not change the shower doors. Took them off, patched the tile and put up a white shower curtain. Regrouted the tile and again, found another double-sink vanity and put it in. House sold close to list, had the offer after 2 months. Jane

We have a 45 inch vanity that comes with a standard 48 x 42 size mirror. So your mirror is wider than your vanity? Consider turning your mirror vertically for a special look.

Thanks all for replies. For chandelier I've decided against shades as advised here- moisture and want an airy see through look. I am liking this chandelier... bling but no so old fashioned.

Now, sconces or over mirror lights, or both? A lighting store person stated many who have done sconces are coming back for more or different lighting because the lighting is not enough. Anyone agree with that? I like the look of sconces but do not have any other light over my vanity area. Can I do both over mirror and sconces or will that look bad?

To answer questions, I was able to add more pictures. Here is where the chandelier will hang. It is centered in the room. This is looking into the bath from center entry between closets on left and right. The room is roughly 20ft left to right, with shower and my vanity at opposite ends, and 12 ft from the entry to the back wall alcove where the tub will sit.

The blue tape is stuck to the mount where the light will hang, and is 36" long just to see proportions. My husband standing under it is still a few feet from his head (he is

6'3"). Ceilings are all sots of height as you can tell but roughly 10-12' max.

The chandelier above is L29w29xH32.5. Or they have a smaller one 25x25x28. Which size??

Oh and I don't have pic of the vanity as they are covered. But the suggested pics above of dark vanities is spot on color. My larger vanity is to the right here buried under the ladder etc.!

Im very interested at why there isn't more recessed lighting in this room?

Over the mirror for sure, considering the wall space. the left sconce would practically be in the shower!

Also, look how dark that half of the room is in daylight! Tell me there is a recessed light in the shower?

For the larger vanity, I would have to say you will get a little more daylight there but it will be from the side, so I would also suggest over the mirror, and possibly one sconce in the middle.

I asked to put more can lights throughout room but contractor is concerned that since the ceiling in the bath is right at roof line, if he makes holes and needs to adjust he cannot match the ceiling texture. But yes, there are two lights in shower- mostly because the one with the fan was off center so I added another to balance it.

The left vanity you can see is 48". The right vanity is 65" and only has one sink in the middle, so when you say middle "middle" for a sconce there, do you mean mounted in the mirror? I really want to stay away from that ordeal. But could I use a sconce on both sides and a bar on top? Or would any mirror that's big enough for the vanity make the sconces too far apart?

The window faces the street so sadly it stays covered with no light from it.

Use frosted foil (the static, not the adhesive!), you can't really see through it from about two feet away. Covering up that window all day would be a shame!

I'd suggest using light strips that shine both up and down. No need to drill more cans in your ceiling, but you'll need plenty of proper light in there.
