Osmanthus fragrans - Monrovia cultivar

Hi folks,

I noticed local big box stores are selling Osmanthus fragrans in large, shrub size container for landscape use. I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that this fragrant flowered plant is quite rare and small ones are being sold online for quite a high price. I also saw them being supplied by a local nursery. Neither had blooms, so there was not way for me to smell them. The lady at the local nursery said they are quite rare, but are hardy in this area and were flowering until the last week. She also said this is the only sweet olive tree she is aware of.

Do you folks know if there are different varieties of Osmanthus fragrans? Any one growing them in the ground? Share pictures if you have any please.
