Speed queen washer question
Comments (3)I line dry all year round, and even in the winter months. I have done this for decades. I am not a fan of tumble dryers, unless necessary. In my opinion, the best thing to do is use Wrinkle Free or Permanent Press wash cycles on those loads where wrinkling is a concern. The rest I wash on cottons, so the maximum amount of water is still extracted out of them. I whole heartedly agree with the suggestion of 5-10 mins of no heat tumbling BEFORE hanging out your wash. It sounds strange, but it makes clothes much softer and reduces wrinkling dramatically. I do not even use softeners and I can still manage towels that are not like sandpaper. Fabric softeners will help reduce wrinkling, too, although not necessary....See Morequestion about Speed Queen tl washer tub leaning
Comments (13)Does anybody know hell well these machines hold up against rusting? My machines are in a basement and I notice that the area around the bleach dispenser looks like it is yellowing. I really don't use the dispenser much; but if this is an early sign;this is not good. I thought these machines had a special 3 coat protection ? Nothing beats a true porcelain coated top, providing it is applied correctly. If they wanted to.make these machines like the laundromat machines, it would be nice to have porcelain enamel tops....See MoreSpeedQueen Price Question
Comments (2)Definitely shop around, but do not decide only based on price. When we purchased our SQ, we did research and had an idea of the price range. We then picked two dealers most close to us, and went to the stores checking them out. One dealer is a little farther who also sells used appliances. The store looks rundown, the sales person is inexperience but eager to sell. The other one is closer, it only carries new appliances with many high end brands, the sales person is knowledge and professional. The store is well organized and pleasant. We purchased our SQ from the closer one, paid a hair more than what the other dealer asked. We believed this dealer would be more responsive if there would be any issues. It turned out we made right decision. The dealer/sales person's after sale service is impeccable. We also used them for our other appliances purchases. The little extra we paid is so well worth it....See MoreTwo questions about my new SpeedQueen
Comments (2)Of course, dissolving the detergent in the water first is the best way to do it but it takes more time than most people want to or can invest in doing laundry so they dump it all in, turn the machine on and walk away. Holding the water level at reset does no harm but is a nuisance. The usual "procedure" is to a) override the lid switch b) adjust the water level and, sometimes, c) drill out the hot water inlet to get a proper warm wash and a fast hot fill. Here is a link that might be useful: Water level adjust...See MoreFeatherBee
